SOOP (co-CEOs Choi Young-woo and Lee Min-won) will host Week 2 of the Round of 24 for "Google Play ASL Season 22," an original esports content series played on StarCraft: Remastered, starting Monday, August 24.

In Week 1 of the Round of 24, which kicked off on Monday, August 17, a total of six players—Kim Yoon-joong (P), Yoo Young-jin (T), Lee Young-han (Z), Kim Jae-hyun (T), Do Jae-wook (P), and Jaedong (Z)—secured their spots in the Round of 16 through Groups A, B, and C.

In Group A, Kim Yoon-joong defeated Bae Seong-heum (Z) in his opening match and then beat Yoo Young-jin in the winners' match to become the first to advance to the Round of 16. Yoo Young-jin defeated Kim Taek-yong (P) in the final match to join the Round of 16 as the group runner-up. In Group B, Lee Young-han won back-to-back matches in the opening and winners' rounds to take first place in the group and move on to the Round of 16. Kim Jae-hyun defeated Kim Seong-dae (Z) in the final match to secure second place and advance. In Group C, Do Jae-wook took first place by defeating Jung Kyung-doo (P) and Jaedong in succession, while Jaedong confirmed his spot in the Round of 16 by overcoming Lee Young-woong (T) in the final match.

Week 2 of the Round of 24 will feature Groups D, E, and F over three days starting Monday, August 24. First, Group D will take place on August 24 at 7:00 PM, featuring Cho Il-jang (Z), Kim Kyung-mo (Z), Lim Hong-gyu (Z), and Yoon Chan-hee (T). With three Zerg players and one Terran player, attention is focused on the fierce Zerg mirror matches and whether Yoon Chan-hee can fight through them to reach the Round of 16.

Group E will match up on August 25 at 7:00 PM, featuring Kim Min-chul (Z), Lim Jin-mook (T), Jung Young-jae (T), and Choi Ho-seon (T). A key point to watch is whether Lim Jin-mook, Jung Young-jae, or Choi Ho-seon can pull off a win against four-time ASL champion Kim Min-chul.

Group F will take place on August 26 at 7:00 PM, featuring Byun Hyun-je (P), Kim Yoon-hwan (Z), Kim Myung-woon (Z), and Kim Jung-woo (Z). While Byun Hyun-je, known for his strength against Zerg, is expected to hold an advantage, the unpredictable Zerg mirror matches are anticipated to be a major variable in deciding who advances to the Round of 16. The 12 players who survive the Round of 24 will join Season 21 seeded players Park Sang-hyeon (Z), Shin Sang-moon (T), Lee Jae-ho (T), and Jang Yoon-chul (P) in the Round of 16. The Round of 16 group nomination ceremony will be held on Monday, August 31.

This ASL Season 22 is held with a live audience at FreecUP Studio in Daechi-dong, Seoul. On-site tickets can be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis through Ticketlink every Thursday at 5:00 PM. Events have also been prepared for viewers watching the matches, including a prediction event to guess match results and a Drops event that viewers can participate in during the broadcast.
