Gen.G defeated Hanwha Life Esports 2-0 in the Legend Group match of the 2026 LoL Champions Korea (LCK) regular season, held at LoL PARK in Jongno on the 13rd. 'Chovy' Jung Ji-hun, who currently leads the Player of the Match (POM) standings, demonstrated his prowess as an ace by leading his team to victory with Ryze in the first set and Cassiopeia in the second.

In Game 1, both teams traded blows in a tightly contested match. After Hanwha Life Esports secured three dragons by catching the opposing damage dealers, thanks to a perfect initiation by 'Kanavi' Seo Jin-hyeok's Jarvan IV during a scuttle crab skirmish, Gen.G Esports responded by using 'Chovy' Jung Ji-hun's Ryze ultimate to pick off 'Gumayusi' Lee Min-hyeong's Jhin and secure Baron.

Gen.G Esports then used the Baron buff to take down 'Zeus' Choi Woo-je's Vayne, who had been a thorn in their side, and followed up by picking off Jarvan IV to secure their third dragon. They pulled ahead by over 4k gold. The final Baron teamfight featured a super play from Ryze, who single-handedly forced out 'Zeka' Kim Geon-woo's Zhonya's Hourglass and eliminated Vayne. After securing a clean ace, Gen.G Esports marched into the enemy base to end the game.

Gen.G Esports also took the early lead in Game 2. They won a massive teamfight at the Dragon pit, showcasing perfect crowd control (CC) chaining initiated by 'Duro' Ju Min-gyu's Shen. Stunned by the heavy blow, Hanwha Life Esports grouped up and persistently pressured the side lanes to pick up several kills, but they could not avoid losses in other lanes as a result.

The presence of the hyper-fed Cassiopeia was particularly overwhelming in every teamfight. She single-handedly turned around situations where the team was on the verge of defeat. Although Hanwha Life Esports managed to catch Cassiopeia with a sharp play, briefly flipping the gold lead, she ultimately breathed fire in the final Soul teamfight to seal the victory. With that, Gen.G Esports took Game 2 as well.
