GXG 2026, a creative music festival based on game worlds, has announced the six finalists for its game music competition, which will culminate in a spectacular final stage in Pangyo on September 11.
The 3rd GXG SOUND TRACK (hereinafter GXG Soundtrack) is a stage for original compositions inspired by in-game experiences and characters. The judging panel selected the six finalists after a rigorous evaluation of the applicants' musicality, creativity, and stage presence.
Choi Nam-wook, a professor in the Department of Applied Music at Dong Seoul University and head of the judging panel, stated, "It was difficult to distinguish between the many outstanding entries during the video and audio evaluation. The participants' high level of musical ability and deep understanding of games were impressive, making the selection process for the final six teams quite challenging. I look forward to an even more exciting performance in the finals, enhanced by the live stage and the energy of the audience."
The six finalists are: NOX with 'Bite the lie,' inspired by Lies of P; Solaris with 'Arise!,' based on League of Legends; Unreal Odyssey with 'Gloria,' themed around the Dungeon & Fighter universe; Catalog with 'Plum Blossom,' inspired by MapleStory; Hahyeon with 'LoveRace,' based on Blue Archive; and the string band Momad with 'Nova X,' inspired by PUBG: Battlegrounds. Each team plans to deliver a unique musical experience to the audience with their own distinct compositions.
The intense live competition will take place on the main stage at Pangyo Station Square on Friday, September 11. The final winner will be determined by a combination of expert judging and public voting. An online pre-vote will be held for two weeks, from Friday, August 28, to Thursday, September 10. Anyone can listen to 30-second audio teasers on the official website and social media to cast their vote, and on-site voting on September 11 will also be factored into the final results.
Meanwhile, the GXG 2026 event will be held over two days, from Friday, September 11, to Saturday, September 12, around Pangyo Station Square, offering a variety of content for the public in addition to the music competition.
