Nexon (co-CEOs Kang Dae-hyun and Kim Jung-wook) announced on the 7th that it will officially launch PC service for 'Overwatch,' developed by Blizzard Entertainment (President Johanna Faries), on August 12 alongside the Season 4 update. Ahead of the launch, the company has opened a pre-registration account linking event.

Since its release in 2016, 'Overwatch' has been a flagship Blizzard franchise, beloved by players worldwide for its diverse heroes and fast-paced, strategic gameplay. Starting August 12, Nexon will handle PC publishing for 'Overwatch' in Korea, rolling out localized live services and business operations. In particular, the company plans to strengthen the domestic 'Overwatch' experience by working closely with Blizzard Entertainment to provide customized content and specialized Internet cafe services for Korean players.

Ahead of this, Nexon is conducting pre-account linking until August 11 to ensure a seamless transition for domestic players' 'Overwatch' experience. Users can log in with their Nexon account on the official event page, verify their identity, and link their personal Blizzard Battle.net account. Once linked, all existing gameplay records—including skins, sprays, and other cosmetic items, as well as various resources and progress—will be fully preserved. After the official service launch, players will be able to access the game via Nexon.com and Nexon Plug, in addition to the existing Battle.net launcher.

Nexon will provide various rewards to users who complete the pre-account linking and maintain the linked status until August 12. Upon the official service launch, these users will receive one 'Nexon Legend Loot Chest' (guaranteeing four legendary skins), the new 'Splash Surfer D.Va' legendary skin, and 20 Mythic Prisms. Additionally, they will receive a 'Nexon-mari' profile card, a player icon, five legendary loot chests, and a special player title.
