Celebrating its 9th anniversary, NC has announced a groundbreaking policy for Lineage M: selling BM (Business Model) equipment for Adena.
During a live broadcast on Monday, June 22, Lineage M revealed key details for its 9th-anniversary update, scheduled for Wednesday, June 24. The announcement that BM equipment, previously available only for paid resources, will now be purchasable with Adena was met with an explosive response from the player base.
BM equipment has been a core revenue model for Lineage M. By selling exclusive slot equipment available only through paid resources, the game provided a path for players to grow stronger through spending, serving as a primary driver of revenue. In essence, this new Adena-based sales policy represents a decision to forgo a portion of that revenue.
Lineage M PD Cho Jae-kyung explained the rationale behind the policy, stating, "We made this decision to restore the value of Adena, which has been diluted over the past nine years." He noted that the policy will be implemented after adjustments based on data accumulated from the Grim Reaper & Balrog worlds, where a similar system is already in place, to ensure long-term benefits for both the players and the game.
Viewers of the live broadcast reacted with overwhelming enthusiasm, flooding the chat tab with comments like "This is insane" and "This is huge." Following the announcement, the market price of "Halpas' Greed," an item used for Adena exchange, began to rise.
The introduction of the Adena-based BM equipment sales policy to the Legacy World also signals a green light for the integration with the Legacy World that players in the Grim Reaper & Balrog worlds have been eagerly awaiting. PD Cho added that this policy is "a mechanism to ensure a smooth, noise-free landing for the integration with the Legacy World, which Grim Reaper and Balrog players have desperately wanted," and urged players to continue enjoying the game while looking forward to the upcoming world integration.
