Rift Rivals LCK vs LMS vs LPL is only a few days away from its opening match on Thursday, July 6th (KST). Before the event, head coaches from the Korean representatives of the Rift Rivals have shared their feeling and resolution for the very first Rift Rivals. SKT's head coach, Byunghoon "cCarter" Choi shared how he feels confident especially with fellow LCK teams, but still feels pressure to do well in this international tournament.

cCarter started the interview with how he is not too worried about the tournament especially because they have strong allies. "We've been to many international events, but this is the first time that we are participating in an event where teams from the same region cooperate with each other. I'm more relieved than worried because we are going to play alongside strong teams from LCK. I feel like we are going with allies that we can really trust."

Yet, he felt that there was still some burden nonetheless as they will be representing the region as the number one team. "However, we must not lose because it's not a tournament that only we are going from Korea, and the theme of the tournament is 'regional rivalry'. We'll be going up against the number one team from LPL and LMS, so we'll have to win for us to advance to finals and win the tournament. We'll do our best to do our part."

When asked about the roster that are slightly different from the team's recent LCK starting member, cCarter answered that he wanted to have the same roster as MSI 2017. "We've faced both Flash Wolves and Team WE back in MSI 2017, so we chose the same roster as back then. Huni hasn't been in good shape lately, and this tournament will be the chance for him to bounce back."

cCarter wrapped up the interview with a further comment on Flash Wolves. "We have to consider that we'll be playing in their home turf. I feel like we have to defeat Flash Wolves for us to advance to the finals, so I think we have some burden. We'll make sure that we can defeat them again in the Rift Rivals as well."
