An in-depth guide to Bumaro - A Juggernaut Master with perfect weapon charging and skill combos

Bumaro is a Helix-attuned Juggernaut who plays the role of a tank that reflect enemy damage in MXM. His weapon is Necrotizing Amoebas, which he uses for long-ranged weapon attacks, and he has more attack damage than the average Juggernaut. However, the projectile speed isn’t really fast, and enemies must walk where the projectile lands to be dealt damage, making the attack fairly easy to avoid. You can deal more damage by charging Bumaro’s weapon attacks.

You can choose to either play offensive or defensive with Bumaro, depending on his skill sets. If you want to play offensive, you can cling to an enemy to deal damage or hurt your opponents with Acidic Burst. If you want to play defensive, you can recover your HP as you increase your Mass, or reflect enemy damage to increase your survivability.

Apart from his skill sets, Bumaro has a unique ability that allows him to increase his Mass by charging his weapon attack. This increases his weapon damage, skill power, and defense. However, his increased mass makes him very slow, which can hinder escape and pursuit.

▲ Bumaro can control his Mass to change his combat style via charging his weapon attack.

▣ Just need 30 seconds before the battle starts! Recommended Master options

◆ Recommended Augments

Bumaro’s weapon attack can become powerful by charging, but it isn’t easy to hit the target as the projectiles are slow. Choose Projectile Speed as your weapon augment to make up for this.

◆ Recommended Skill Combinations

You can play offensive with Cling and Acidic Burst. You can either deal damage or slow your enemy with Cling, and use Acidic Burst do deal damage with its wide AoE.

You can reflect enemy damage with Rubberize. If you use Cell Division here, it will increase Bumaro’s defense and damage, and recover his HP and Mass.

◆ Node Compatibility

Auxiliary Nodes are the main Nodes for Bumaro, and you’ll need to consider using Defensive Nodes as he is a tank. He benefits from Movespeed and Skill Power Nodes for the Auxiliary Nodes, and CC Reduction or Defense Nodes for the Defensive Nodes.

◆ Recommended Spell

As Bumaro will be usually fighting alongside with his allies in the lane or near the towers, it will be important to use Titan’s Protection to protect your Guardian Tower.

◆ Traits Priority

Bumaro is usually in the front line, reflecting enemy attacks, or using his skills near the enemies. That is why you should invest your Trait points in Defense for more survivability and use the rest on Weapon Damage to keep harassing enemies.

▣ Choose to play either offensive or defensive tank ! Bumaro’s Skill Sets

Cling is a skill that allows you to cling to either your allies or enemies, and the skill effect changes depending on the target you cling onto and the remaining HP you have. If you have less HP than your enemy, you can steal their HP; if you have more than your enemy, then you can just slow them. If you cling to an ally with lower HP than you, you’ll be recovering their HP, and increasing speed if their HP is higher than yours. Since there are various effects to this skill, you can use it in several ways- from harassing your enemies to supporting your allies, and you can easily use it in a skill combo with other skills. If you are in danger, you can also use this skill to escape by clinging to your ally.

Acidic Burst is a skill that you can use to deal wide AoE damage when you are near enemies. The Mass spent for using this skill depends on the current Mass you have, and if you use up more Mass, you will have deal more damage and have a wider AoE. If possible, increase your Mass by charging your weapon attack and increase your weapon damage and defense before diving into your enemy lines. However, your movespeed will decrease once you become massive, so either use another skill or the Tag system to dive in.

Cell Division is a skill that recovers your HP and Mass at the same time, and is suitable for those who prioritize survivability. You cannot move while channeling, but your defense will increase, so as long as you are not right in the center of your enemies, Bumaro won’t fall into any life-threatening situations. However, you won’t be immune to enemy CC, so you should watch out for their skills.

Rubberize reflects enemy damage, and the amount of damage reflected differs based on your Mass. Also, it becomes more effective if you have more Mass, so keep a certain amount of Mass by charging your weapon attack. Although it does reflect damage, it doe not decrease the amount of damage Bumaro receives, so use Cell Division to increase survivability. Rubberize can knock down enemies within 5m after 4 seconds of activation, so be sure to combine other skills to make the most of the knockdown.

▲ Acidic Burst is best used when your enemies are clustered.

Conservation of Mass is a passive skill that changes Bumaro’s stats based on his Mass. When Bumaro has lower Mass, he gains higher movement speed, and when he has higher mass, his weapon damage, skill power, and defense increases. Keeping the right Mass when engaged in a fight is good, but becoming thinner helps you escape in crucial moments, so keep on controlling your Mass for the right amount depending on the situations.

Oozify is Bumaro’s survival skill which liquefies him for 2 seconds, making it impossible to target him with weapon attacks or skills. Enemies standing on top of Bumaro will be slowed. Use this skill strategically to slow your enemies and look for your allies’ skill combos.

Mistosis is Bumaro’s ult, which splits him into 3 copies. The Bumaro copies will imitate the original Bumaro’s skills, or, enhance the original’s skill effects, although they cannot imitate Cling. You can deal more damage than usual by using Acidic Burst with your copies present.

The copies imitate weapon attacks as well; since Bumaro’s weapon attacks are effective on a fixed target, use it to follow up your allies’ attacks.

▲ Mitosis is a skill that can play a big part in battles.

▣ Lead your team to victory by maximizing your weapon attack and efficient skill sets! How to effectively play Bumaro

Bumaro has a unique weapon that allows him to deal continuous damage with a rather wide AoE. Even if the projectiles simply land on the ground, it can hurt your opponents for a short period of time, which you can use to keep your enemies from coming near. It’s important to keep using your weapon attacks from behind even when you are low on your HP and can’t take anymore enemy attacks for your allies.

In the early phase of the game, it helps to stick around your allies for growth. Bumaro’s weapon attacks are quite strong so it isn’t to difficult to take down monsters or enemies, although you won’t be much help staying in the jungle for a long time so it’s best to stay in the lane.

▲ Charging your weapon attacks makes it easier to kill monsters in the jungle.

You can choose to play either offensive or defensive to support your allies based on Bumaro’s skill sets. If you choose to play offensive, look for chances to dive into the enemies and chip away at their HP little by little, which will help your allies even if you can’t deal critical damage to your enemies. If you choose to play defensive, stand in the front line to take damage for your allies, keep recovering your HP periodically, and reflect the enemy’s damage.

If you set Cling and Acidic Burst as your skill set, use Cling to attack your enemy by clinging, and once you release your target, use Acidic Burst to attack with wide AoE. You’d probably be placed in the center of your enemies by then, so use Oozify to escape or hinder your enemies from moving.

If you have Cell Division and Rubberize as your skill set, then you main priority should be absorbing enemy attacks and harassing your opponents. When you see a chance, charge your weapon attack, then activate Rubberize to dive into the enemies and reflect their damage.

If your enemies focus on Bumaro, his HP will be drained in an instant, so use Cell Division to recover both your Mass and HP. You can get enemy aggro focused on you in this way, and knock down enemies for a moment with Rubberize, allowing your allies to follow up.

When team fights break out, use Mitosis to chip in if the situation is favorable to your allies. Use Acidic Burst or Rubberize where enemies are clustered to keep giving continual damage, and when your allies manage to restrain enemy movement with CC, attack them with your weapon attacks right away.

▲ Use Cling to attack and evade at the same time!
