Titan Ruins in 5v5 PvP Mode - Destroy the enemy’s Titan Core

Titan Ruins, one of the game modes of MXM, is a 5v5 siege battle. Every match in this mode has a 25 minute time limit, and the objective is to either destroy the enemy team’s Titan Core or reach 1000 points before the enemy team. If neither of the teams complete the objective within 25 minutes, the team with the highest amount of points at the of the game wins the match.

Points are acquired through various means such as killing enemy Masters, neutral monsters, units, and/or activating objects. Particularly, the Keeper and Warden provide favorable buffs to allies, and Kahzor and King Tanian give a tremendous amount of points, making them the most crucial neutral monsters. In addition to that, Titan, Adaman, and Ruark can help a team gain the lead in lanes.

You can even become a Titan yourself and play a significant role in the battlefield. Players can transform into a Titan Incarnate for a certain amount of time. This is available when 5 Titan Shards have been obtained from the towers or through killing the enemy Titans.

You can level up a Master by acquiring EXP from monsters and enemy Masters in the Titan Ruins. A Master receives 3 Trait points that are used to enhance AP and DP. In terms of gear, it shows only 50% of its capability in Normal and AI Bot Matches, but is 100% in Rank and Custom Matches.

Various Titan Ruins PvP Modes

Titan Ruins is a PvP mode, and you can enter the game under the Arena of Dispatch. PvP comprises of the Normal, Ranked, AI Bot Match, and Custom Match. Normal allows players to select whichever Master they want when entering the game, but the capability of a Master’s gear is only 50% of the original. Anyone can enjoy the mode with at least 6 Masters in total.

You can participate in Ranked with 12 Masters in total and a level 20 account. The result of the match calculates player’s Tier Points, and this decides what Tier the player will be placed in. The player is then matched with others who are in a similar tier. The in-game rules of the match are the same with Normal, but it has a Pick/Ban phase and the effectiveness of gear is 100%. The Pick/Ban phase allows a player with the highest rank points to ban a Master, and players with the lowest points have a chance to pick a Master in return.

A group of 5 players team up and face AI Bots in the AI Bot Match. The Custom Match lets players invite anyone on each side and play a game, and they can also choose whether to apply the Pick/Ban phase or not. Gear performance is at 50% in the AI Bot Match, and 100% in the Custom Match.

Choose the Master, weapon, skills and auxiliary skills before the battle begins

Players choose Auxiliary Skills in the Master selection page. They can be used after the battle begins, and players can choose one out of 5 available skills - Recovery Pulse, Titan’s Protection, Teleport, Sprint, and Titan’s Gaze. The skills are activated by pressing C.

Recovery Pulse heals for a total 1200HP to a player and teammates within 5 meters for 5 seconds, and the cooldown is 130 seconds. Titan’s Protection creates a barrier on the Guardian Tower and the Titan Core. The cooldown is 180 seconds, and it can absorb 5000 damages for 15 seconds. Teleport allows a player to teleport to an ally Guardian Tower or the Titan Sight captured by the ally team, and the cooldown is 150 seconds.

Sprint instantly increases the movement speed of a Master. The affected Master can move 30% faster for 8 seconds, and the cooldown is 120 seconds. The cooldown of Titan’s Gaze is the shortest among the Auxiliary Skills, that is, 75 seconds. It allows a player to install a device that can secure nearby vision.

Players can select whatever weapon parts, gear, and skills they want in the Master selection page, just like the PvP mode in the other games. The weapon parts upgraded in the Bridge apply the same in the Titan Ruins.

The Master level is an important attribute for skill upgrades and traits

The Master level can be increased up to 18 by acquiring EXP from units, neutral monsters, and enemy Masters. The level plays a significant role in the game, as one level-up provides an increase of general stats and an additional skill point. The skill point is used to upgrade a particular skill. However, the skill level that was upgraded in the Bridge is not applicable in the Titan Ruins.

Another reason why levelling is important is because of traits. This system only exists in the Titan Ruins, and 3 trait points are given to a Master when levelled up 3 times. Each Master owns 4 types of designated traits, and players use points on whatever trait they want to upgrade on the Master. This is done by clicking the Master portrait on the bottom of the screen.

The maximum level of each trait is 12. It is impossible to max out all traits considering the fact that you are only given 18 trait points at Master level 18. It is therefore recommended to be prudent with what trait you would like to invest in among the 4 types, depending on playstyle and circumstances. Traits can only be selected in the base and they can also be reset.

Three lanes and various objects

The Titan Ruins are a large-scale battlefield that resemble the shape of trapezoid. The bases are located at the 1 o’clock and 7 o’clock direction. The map has three lanes, and units spawn at certain intervals and march forward along the lane automatically. There are two Guardian Towers in each lane for each team, and the Titan Core and two Guardian Towers protecting the core are located in the base.

The Guardian Towers have a tremendous amount of HP and AP. Thus, damage received from a tower in the early game would be quite high. The tower will focus on the first Master that steps within its range, so it is safe to keep a certain distance from the tower in order to manage HP. The central tower should be destroyed in order to reach the second towers in the lanes.

What’s interesting is that, even though each base is located at 1 o’clock and 7 o’clock in the actual match, the location of the player’s base in-game is shown as 7 o’clock. However, the location of neutral monsters differs. For example, the location of Kazhor and King Tanian is either top left or bottom right depending on the player’s actual base location. In addition to that, the location of Adaman and Ruark, who spawn at the Altars located at the 5 o’clock and 11 o’clock directions, changes depending on the base location as well. It is therefore good to understand the map and check the spawn location of each monster first when the game begins.

The geographical features of the Titan Ruins also alter the movement of the Master. For example, the river in the middle of the map slows down the Master’s movement speed, and the bush allows the Master to be invisible, making it easy to ambush. Moreover, a couple of areas are blocked by a tree-like obstacle which can be destroyed.

The most significant object in the game is a vision device called Titan’s Sight. They are located in the bottom and top lanes, and two in the middle lane. They grant vision of a wide region around them for the ally team when captured by a Master, and are helpful in checking the location of opponent Masters. This allows team members to more safely go about tasks such as hunting neutral monsters or managing the lanes, thus the devices become one of the most important areas where both teams collide with each other.

The importance of acquiring points by hunting neutral monsters

There are various neutral monsters other than units and Guardian Towers in the Titan Ruins - the Guardian, Keeper, Warden, Altar Watcher, King Tanian, Kahzor, and others. Some of them provide points, buffs, Titan Shards, and other valuable resources. The Keeper and Warden are the key monsters for managing the early game, offering a reduced tag cooldown, and increased MP and EP recovery for one Master.

The Altar Watcher is the monster that protects the Adaman and Ruark Altars located at 5 o’clock and 11 o’clock on the minimap. You can activate the Altar after slaying them all, and summon Adaman or Ruark depending on the type of the altar. Both monsters move along the closest lane, providing a boost to lane management.

King Tanian and Kahzor provide 30 and 100 points respectively. This affects the aggregated points of each team in the late game significantly. Kahzor in particular provides 100 points at once, allowing one team to summon a titan and he also casts a debuff that reduces the enemy Guardian Towers’ AP and DP by 30%, hence it is considered an important game changer.

Other ways of acquiring points are killing opponent Masters and units. An enemy Master generally provides 5 points and more if it is a kill streak. The units provide 1 point each.

The summoning of a titan with 100 points

The titan is a crucial monster in the Titan Ruins. It appears in the base every time a team reaches 100 points, and marches forward along the middle lane automatically. There are three types of the titans - Ardent Tsaphon, Helix Damizhra, and Kinetic Marahv. The first titan summoned in the match is random, followed by Ardent Tsaphon, Helix Damizhra, and Kinetic Marahv, in that order. Note that the first titan has a barrier of 10k points.

When there are two titans summoned by each team, they collide in the lane. The winner consumes a partial amount of the enemy titan. It is difficult to defend against the enemy titan without an ally titan, thus it is recommended to join the battle and support the ally titan.

The subsequent titans Ardent Tsaphon, Helix Damizhra, and Kinetic Marahv are summoned in that order, and whichever team summons a titan first gets a stronger version of that titan. That means that the team with higher points may have a favorable battle of titans with one that surpasses the other.

When the enemy titan marches towards the ally base, you may lose a Guardian Tower if no one is defending it. Therefore, it is crucial to support the ally titan to win against the enemy titan in order to reduce the damage taken as much as possible.

Each titan has a different ability. Ardent Tsaphon increases its AP for the number of nearby ally Masters and can gain a boost greater than 100%. It explodes and damages nearby enemies when it is killed.

Helix Damizhra is more defense-based compared to Ardent Tsaphon. Its passive skill blocks incoming projectiles in front, and heals all nearby Masters’ HP. It provides a damage absorbing barrier to nearby Masters when it is killed.

Kinetic Marahv possesses upgraded movement speed and crowd control. The ally team gets increased movement speed when they pass through the titan’s route. It also pulls in all of the enemy team, thoroughly disrupting formation of the opponent team. It pulls in enemies and reduces the enemy team’s movement speed when it is killed.

Titan Incarnate with 5 Titan Shards

Titan Incarnate is the transformation of a player into a powerful titan. In order to become the Titan Incarnate, you need a number of Titan Shards. This item can be acquired by destroying Guardian Tower, titans, and/or Titan Monolith.

What’s unique about the item is that it is dropped on the ground. A Master then picks it up and returns to the base, but can also drop it back on the ground if killed before returning to base. It is therefore crucial to be cautious when acquiring the item and returning to the base, as you have a chance of losing it to the enemy team. On the other hand, a Titan Shard acquired by destroying the Guardian Tower is automatically saved without returning to the base.

The number of Titan Shards can be checked by a yellow circle icon on right top of the screen. When the number reaches 5, the system message ‘Titan Incarnate Available!’ appears with a golden icon beneath the match time.

Titan Incarnate can only be used by one player with the permission of other team members. You need to press Z in order to activate it. The survey then begins, and you need 2 approvals from 4 team members to transform into the incarnate. With enough approvals, the Master then begins to transform into the Titan Incarnate.

The transformation lasts for 25 seconds with 12k HP and massive AP. The Master’s existing skills are not available at this point, but the distinct skills of the Titan Incarnate are given instead. It has two different modes; Combat Mode, a powerful battle-oriented mode with various attacking skills, and Siege Mode, a mode used for destroying constructs with a hammer weapon. The mode change is done by pressing R.
