Rainbow Six Siege Adds Solid Snake in Year 11 Update, Alongside Ranked 3.0 and Legend Division

Ubisoft used the spotlight of the Six Invitational 2026 in Paris to unveil its Year 11 roadmap for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, outlining sweeping competitive updates, anti-cheat measures and new content planned across upcoming seasons.

The publisher detailed changes aimed at reinforcing the game’s core 5v5 experience, including Ranked 3.0, the introduction of a new high-skill competitive tier called Legend Division and expanded player protection systems. Ubisoft also announced the R6 ShieldGuard Secure Platform, a secure boot technology designed to strengthen anti-cheat defenses on PC.

Season 1, titled Operation Silent Hunt, launches March 3 and introduces Solid Snake as a permanent operator. The character, originating from Konami’s Metal Gear Solid franchise, brings stealth-focused gameplay, including a new intel-gathering gadget and the TACIT .45 suppressed handgun.

Ubisoft said Solid Snake will also headline a limited-time “Redacted” event, featuring a 4v4 infiltration mode. The event will include themed cosmetic items inspired by the Metal Gear Solid series. David Hayter, the longtime voice actor for Snake, contributed new in-game voice lines.

Alongside the crossover content, Ubisoft revealed a limited 1v1 Arcade mode scheduled for Season 1. The mode emphasizes solo gunplay and mechanical skill through short, high-intensity rounds.

Three modernized maps — Oregon, Coastline and Villa — will receive visual upgrades and updated destruction elements. Ubisoft also confirmed that Dual Front, a previously introduced mode, will conclude with Season 1 before being removed.

Future seasons will expand on competitive and progression systems. Season 2 will feature a remaster of Dokkaebi, reworking the operator into an intel-denial attacker. Season 3 will introduce Operator Mastery, a long-term progression feature allowing players to level individual operators, as well as a new defender designed to counter shield-based tactics.

Season 4 will add a Social Hub, providing cross-platform squad management and communication tools. Ubisoft also announced a rework of the Hostage game mode.

Separately, Ubisoft confirmed Rainbow Six Mobile will launch globally on Feb. 23 for iOS and Android. The mobile version will include more than 20 operators, multiple modes and maps adapted from the main game.
