Mob Entertainment on Thursday released the official gameplay trailer for “Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5 — Broken Things,” offering the first extended look at the next installment in the indie horror franchise ahead of its scheduled Feb. 18 launch on PC.
The trailer, published across video platforms, highlights new environments within the Playtime Co. factory while expanding on the role of The Prototype, a central antagonist whose presence has loomed over previous chapters. The footage suggests a shift toward a cat-and-mouse dynamic, with players navigating darker sections of the facility and encountering new characters.
Mob Entertainment said Chapter 5 will introduce additional puzzle mechanics, environmental hazards and new functionality tied to the GrabPack, the series’ signature tool. The trailer also teases encounters with returning threats, including Huggy Wuggy, as well as previously unseen denizens inhabiting the factory’s shadowed areas.
Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5’s Gameplay Trailer Invites Players Back Into the Factory Ahead of February 18th Launch
Long watching from the shadows, The Prototype finally makes his move.
According to Mob Entertainment, players will continue investigating the mysteries surrounding Playtime Co., confronting what the developer describes as the “true rotten heart” of the facility. The gameplay preview depicts tense exploration sequences interspersed with puzzle-solving and pursuit scenarios.
“Poppy Playtime,” first released in 2021, gained popularity through online streaming platforms and social media, where its characters became widely circulated in fan-created content. Subsequent chapters expanded the narrative while maintaining the franchise’s blend of horror, puzzles and stylized visuals.
Chapter 5 is currently available to wishlist on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Mob Entertainment said console versions are planned for release later this year, though specific platforms and dates were not disclosed.
Founded in 2015, Mob Entertainment — originally established as EnchantedMob — developed “Poppy Playtime” as its flagship title. The studio’s characters, including Huggy Wuggy and Catnap, have since appeared in consumer products and online media.
The gameplay trailer arrives as anticipation builds among fans following the conclusion of Chapter 4, which left several narrative threads unresolved. Mob Entertainment has not detailed the chapter’s full storyline but indicated the installment will advance key plot developments involving The Prototype.
