Zackray returning to Ultimate after disappointing Pokemon UNITE run

The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate community w to hear that top Japanese player Sota "Zackray" Okada was taking a break from the game's competitive scene. The talented R.O.B. player decided to leave in March to pursue a career in Pokemon UNITE. But it isn't going as planned for Zackray.

Team Liquid's Head Smash Coach announced on Twitter that Zackray was returning to Smash sooner than expected but it was for unfortunate circumstances. Zackray was supposed to be chasing a championship in UNITE but his teammate overslept and got them disqualified from the tournament.

Zackray explained on stream that the team had "spent lots of time and money" over the past year to chase their dream of competing in UNITE at the highest level. While Zackray seemed disappointed in the results, he admitted he's addicted to Smash and is motivated to try hard in Ultimate again.

Zackray's fans are saddened to hear of the UNITE journey coming to an abrupt end but can't deny how happy they are to hear that he's making a return to Ultimate. Zackray has been silently competing in weeklies over in Japan for the past few weeks and will most likely make his debut in major tournaments soon.
