LCK + LPL 2022 Summer Split Tier List

With the Summer Split live for both China's LPL and Korea's LCK, we gathered Inven Global’s League of Legends team to discuss how we felt all the teams in the East ranked going into the new split. MSI recency bias aside, we looked at the relative strength of each team both within their region and compared to their neighbors to identify which teams have the best shot at showing up big at Worlds 2022.

RNG sit atop S Tier

The back-to-back MSI champions enter the Summer Split as the best team in the world right now. Even after losing Chen "Bin" Ze-Bin to Bilibili Gaming, Chen "Breathe" Chen is a suitable replacement whose mechanical talents will fit with Royal Never Give Up’s playstyle. Expect the team to be a consistent force throughout the split. That being said, both T1 and Victory Five have the talent to overtake Royal Never Give Up by the end of Summer. An S Tier stacked with teams that have carry potential from each of their five players, this group of heavy hitters that are expected to make it far at Worlds this year.

TES headline formidable A Tier

TOP Esports barely missed out on S Tier status due to their inconsistencies throughout Spring. Yet, as we said, they are team that should be respected more.

At their best, no team can stop them in the LPL. Both Zhuo "knight" Ding and Huang "Wayward" Ren-Xing were primary focal points for this team, while Gao "Tian" Tian-Liang strong map play complemented the team very nicely. However, on an off-day, their wins look discombobulated and have some weak points, such as support Ling "Mark" Xu. Still, if game 5 at the LPL Spring Finals went differently, we could have been looking at TOP Esports as the reigning MSI Champions. For now, they stand atop a star-studded A tier that is very competitive amongst the six teams.

BLG lead B Tier with narrow A Tier miss

On the fringe of A Tier, Bilibili Gaming just missed out because of their struggles throughout Spring. With the new addition of former Royal Never Give Up top laner Bin, BLG has the potential to make momentous leaps up to the top of this tier list. For now, they headline a group of teams that have the potential to make a strong run in Summer given the right push and circumstances.
