Is Sykkuno retiring from Twitch?

UPDATE [MAY 2, 2022] - Sykkuno has announced a move to YouTube.

The streaming community has been concerned about Sykkuno after a few recent streams point to some possibly big changes for the popular content creator.

During a stream over the weekend, Sykkuno started crying as he thanked his friends for making his stream "great." He even added that it made him want to stream even more, but the morose delivery and tears had fans confused about his outpouring of emotions while saying so. The chat started sending hearts his way as well as encouragement to keep streaming.

But is Sykkuno actually retiring from Twitch?

Sykkuno's fans are growing concerned about the streamer after his last few emotional streams. His close friends have also been acting especially wholesome, seeming a bit more cheesy about their friendship with Sykkuno than usual. It has left fans wondering why everyone seems so sad.

YouTube Queen Rachell "Valkyrae" Hofstetter left a message to Sykkuno in Minecraft that especially had the community tearing up. She wrote: "I'll always be here for you. Excited to watch you grow and continue life with YOU. Love, your twin Rae."

But this wasn't just a heartfelt moment. Many felt there was a secret message. Why was YOU capitalized? Some fans speculated that this could mean that Sykkuno is leaving Twitch for YouTube. But would this really have everyone so upset? It's not like they couldn't still stream together and hang out IRL.

What is wrong with Sykkuno?

With the rumor of a switch to YouTube most likely not the reason behind all of the wholesome crying, fans were left speculating other possibilities that were not as hopeful.

One rumor is that Sykkuno could be going on a long break. He could even be retiring completely. Sykkuno has left streaming behind before. He once took a break that lasted about four years. It's possible he is tired of content creation and is going after a different career path.

Another is that Sykkuno is sick. As big streamers like Imane "Pokimane" Anys and Valkyrae continue to tell Sykkuno of how proud he is and how much he has grown, it really seems dramatic to fans following on social media. Some have even questioned if he is terminally ill and is close to death.

"That's definitely the vibe but there's no way he's dying," someone responded.

Others agreed that it seemed a bit drastic to think Sykkuno was dying. It's possible that Sykkuno is just bored with no new games and no Among Us hype anymore. Sykkuno is a casual streamer who isn't often found playing popular competitive titles. But everyone felt he was a bit too emotional for someone just deciding to take a break out of boredom.

Still, even Sykkuno himself questioned if he "had a terminal illness" during his stream after seeing just how upset his friends were.

Another possibility is that Sykkuno is moving. Many of the top streamers he collaborates with are located in Los Angeles. There have been rumors of Sykkuno moving before, some saying Las Vegas. While this isn't too far from Los Angeles, this would still put Sykkuno at a distance from his friends when he is used to seeing them face-to-face almost daily.

For now, fans are left wondering what is going on with Sykkuno. Is he moving to YouTube? Quitting streaming altogether? Moving far from his friends? The streamer will most likely fill fans in eventually.
