Everything you need to know about Teamfight Tactics Set 6.5

TFT’s Set 6.5 has been up on PBE for two weeks now, giving players the opportunity to experience the changes to Teamfight Tactics and experiment with the meta. Overall, the changes in Set 6.5 aren’t nearly as big as those that came in 5.5 (when Shadow Items were replaced by the Radiant Items). The biggest TFT mechanic added in Set 6, Hextech Augments, is still around, albeit with a few new ones.

This goes along with all of the new units and items that have been added in Set 6.5, along with the units and items that were removed. These changes, therefore, add up to completely re-set the game’s meta and can make a lot of players unsure how to attack Set 6.5 on day one. The purpose of this article is to break down all these changes and explain how they impact the comps to play and items to get when Set 6.5 goes live.

Opponent tracker

Tracking which opponents you have played is a critical skill of TFT because it allows you to guess which opponents you will be facing next. Riot is removing this in the new set, or at least making it easier for all players to track who their next opponent will be.

With the new opponent matchup tracker, each player will see a small icon next to all of the other players’ portraits that will indicate whether they are an eligible opponent for the next round. This way, players can have some idea of how to position their units.

In addition, there is also a new Hextech Augment, Future Sight, which will allow players to see which opponent they will be fighting next. This is an incredibly useful piece of knowledge to have, especially in the early game and when you have position-dependent items like Zephyr.

Augments

While there are a ton of new Augments that have been added to Teamfight Tactics in Set 6.5, a few, in particular, stand out as particularly unique or game-changing. The aforementioned Future Sight is one such Augment.

  • Disintegrato: Your units’ attacks deal bonus magic damage equal to a percentage of the target’s maximum Health.

  • Jeweled Lotus: Magic and true damage from your units’ Abilities can critically strike.
  • Study the Blade: All units benefit from the Challenger trait as though they were Challengers. This does not affect the number of Challengers. Gain a Quinn.
