[LCK Today] KDF rebound from losing streak, KT overcome an 8K gold deficit

On Feb. 13, in the 2022 LCK Spring Split, Kwangdong Freecs faced Nongshim RedForce and Fredit BRION played KT Rolster. Due to the COVID-19 situation within Nongshim RedForce, they had to start Challengers players in multiple positions.

Game 1 between Kwangdong Freecs and Nongshim RedForce went quietly in the beginning, but the game changed its course completely at the Rift Herald. Kwangdong Freecs had a big teamfight win and took the initiative. Afterward, Kwangdong Freecs continued to pound Nongshim RedForce from all directions. When Kwangdong Freecs slew Baron, they didn't need to hesitate anymore and they took the first game.

Yoo "FATE" Soo-hyeok's Syndra started game 2 with a solo kill and took priority in lane. The top lane was similar as well. Kim "Kiin" Gi-in's Gnar pushed the lane fiercely against the opponent Gragas. As Kwangdong Freecs had priority in the mid and top lanes, they took the mid lane turret in 15 minutes. This continued to snowball and Kwangdong Freecs destroyed Nongshim RedForce's Nexus to end their losing streak.

The second match was between Fredit BRION and KT Rolster. It was Fredit BRION who took the lead in the beginning. They picked up kills in the top and bot lanes, and collected objectives. They were able to take an 8K global gold lead. However, KT Rolster stole the second Baron and turned the game around in a single Baron power play. Although Fredit BRION secured the next Baron, they lost the teamfight around the Infernal dragon soul, which was the end of the game. KT Rolster destroyed the Nexus in 44 minutes with a huge turnaround. Even at a big deficit, Kim "Rascal" Kwang-hee's Akali made a difference to take the game.

In game 2, Fredit BRION substituted in Park "Morgan" Gi-tae in place of Choi "Sw0rd" Sung-won. Fredit BRION edged ahead as they took benefits around the Rift. KT Rolster tried to stall, as they collected three dragons first. However, as KT Rolster attempted to gain the Infernal dragon's soul, Fredit BRION had a big teamfight win. Through the win, Fredit BRION slew Baron and took down all the inner turrets. The game came down to the dance around the Infernal dragon's soul as the two teams each had three stacks. Fredit BRION won this fight, secured the soul, and took the match to game 3.

KT Rolster took priority in the early game. Moon "Cuzz" Woo-chan had been substituted in for game 3, and he made effective plays here and there. After KT Rolster's 5-man dive in the bot lane, they spurted ahead. Although Fredit BRION made a 4:4 trade at the dragon soul fight, the last teamfight at the Elder dragon was owned by KT Rolster. This fight ended the game, and KT Rolster gained their 4th win of the season.
