On November 17, FunPlus Phoenix announced that they have parted ways with top laner Jang "Nuguri" Ha-gwon. In their tweet, they said "We are very grateful for your dedication to the team over the past year. Your incredible performance throughout the journey will be remembered by all of us."

Nuguri started his professional career in 2017 with I Gaming Star [NongShim RED FORCE]. He joined DAMWON Gaming [DWG KIA] in 2018, and qualified to the LCK through the promotion tournament. In 2020, DWG won the LCK Summer split and the World Championship as well. Nuguri was awarded the final MVP for 2020 LCK Summer split.

After winning Worlds 2020, Nuguri left DWG and signed with FPX for 2021. Nuguri once again qualified to Worlds this year, but did not make it out of the group stage as FPX was the first team to be eliminated.
