Legends of Runeterra fans got a taste of what can be expected in the upcoming expansion set to launch on August 25. On Wednesday afternoon, Riot Games revealed information pertaining to the Beyond the Bandlewood expansion that will introduce the final region coming to the collectible card game title and a few champions that will be joining the fray.
Legends of Runeterra new champions
In a video shared across the game's numerous social platforms, players were quick to identify that Caitlin, Ziggs, Veigar, Sion, and Xerath all made appearances despite not currently being in the title itself. With a new region needing champions to fill existing slots, players connected the dots and assumed some, if not all, would be revealed in the upcoming weeks leading up to the expansion's launch date.
Fizz, Lulu, Teemo, and Heimerdinger reworked
In a separate announcement, the game's development team shed some light on a quandary that popped up in player's minds when Bandle City was first announced as the final region: "Wait, what about existing Yordle champions?" Logically, if there's an expansion featuring Yordles but Teemo, Lulu, and others are already in the game and assigned to other regions, does that mean they won't be in it?
According to the announcement, Fizz, Lulu, Teemo, and Heimerdinger will receive multi-region reworks and become members of Bandle City as well, adding another tool to their kits.
More information will likely be shared in the upcoming weeks as, historically, cards and champions are slowly teased leading up to a new expansion/card set's launch date.
