[LCK Today] T1 sweeps DRX, LSB defeats KT

In the 2021 LCK Summer Split played on June 27, DRX faced T1, and Liiv SANDBOX played kt Rolster. In the first match, T1 had a clean sweep over DRX. The second match was closer as Liiv SANDBOX took the 2-1 win.

There was a battle of pride between the two teams over the draft. DRX and T1 each picked and banned exactly the same champions in both games. As T1 won the first game, they had no reason to change the draft. Despite their loss in the first game, DRX picked the same champions again as if they were trying to say that the draft wasn’t the problem and that they weren’t wrong. However, T1 proved that they were right by sweeping DRX.

In the match, T1 jungler Moon “Cuzz” Woo-chan had a great performance playing Diana. His ganks and teamfights were spectacular in the first game, and he brought the game towards T1 in difficult situations in game 2. Bot laner Park “Teddy” Jin-seong had a great performance as well, playing Jhin. The two were voted as Players of the Games in the match.

The second match was between kt Rolster and Liiv SANDBOX. The two teams fought fiercely over and over again. In the first game, Choi “Doran” Hyeon-joon took priority playing Rumble, and Park “Summit” Woo-tae took initiative playing Gnar. The games snowballed through top lane, and the top lane caused influence over the whole Rift.

Game 3 was almost an ARAM match. The two teams didn’t bother taking care of waves and tried to fight each other throughout the game. The result was decided in the teamfight at the 25-minute mark. It was kt Rolster who picked off a champion to start a 5v4 teamfight, but when Summit’s Aatrox came out of Tahm Kench’s stomach, he was fully restored, and Liiv SANDBOX took over the fight. Afterward, Liiv SANDBOX didn’t let go of their lead and collected the win.
