In the Round of 6 of the 2020 KeSPA Cup Ulsan on the 25th, Nongshim RedForce and Hanwha Life Esports each defeated Liiv SANDBOX and Gen.G, respectively, to head to the semifinals. 

In the first game, Nongshim RedForce met Liiv SANDBOX. In each teamfight, Park “Bay” Jun-byeong and Seo “deokdam” Dae-gil’s performance on Syndra and Samira shined and Nongshim RedForce took the first game. Liiv SANDBOX didn’t go down easy and took the second game. It was Lee “Effort” Sang-ho’s Leona who lured in the opponents well. Through this, Liiv SANDBOX was able to snowball their lead to victory. Nongshim RedForce struck back fiercely with a Baron steal, but as Liiv SANDBOX made up for it through the Elder dragon fight to tie the game.

Game 3 was close as the two teams gave and took kills and turrets for 15 minutes. However, it was Nongshim RedForce who gathered quicker than their counterparts for teamfights and objectives. In that process, Han “Peanut” Wang-ho and deokdam collected multiple kills and edged ahead. Especially, Peanut succeeded another Baron steal and led his team to the semifinals.

The second match was between Hanwha Life Esports and Gen.G. Although Gen.G went far ahead in kill score through skirmishes, Hanwha Life Esports stood strong as Park “Morgan” Gi-tae’s Ornn was solid and Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon’s Orianna dealt massive damage. Hanwha Life Esports took the first win.

Game 2 went similar. The early game was in Gen.G’s favor as they countered Hanwha Life Esports’ jungle pathing. However, Hanwha Life Esports turned the game around through teamfighting. As soon as Gen.G’s ultimates were wasted, Hanwha Life Esports grasped hold of their chance. Chovy and Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu survived until the end and ended the game.

The semifinals will begin on the 26th with the match between DAMWON Gaming and Hanwha Life Esports in a Bo5 format.
