Inven has confirmed after checking with Riot Korea that the teams for the LCK franchising will be finalized in November, instead of mid-October as originally planned.

Last August, Riot announced 10 preferred teams along with five more on the waitlist. Included on the list were nine LCK teams and hyFresh Blade from Challengers Korea. SeolHaeOne Prince was the only LCK team that didn’t make the preferred list as they were listed at the top of the waitlist. Riot Games started the final negotiations for franchising with the preferred teams in early September.

Meanwhile, one of the preferred organizations, KT Sports, which manages kt Rolster, had announced they’ve acquired a slot in the LCK franchising. According to the public announcement, the LCK franchising slot costs 10B KRW (approx. $8.8 million) and can be paid off over five years. It is said that KT Sports invested 64% of its total assets to secure a spot in the LCK.
