Counter Logic Gaming secured its third win of the 2020 League of Legends Championship Series Spring Split after a harrowing back-and-forth with Team Liquid. In the end, CLG was able to win out due to a phenomenal Teleport flank by Mid Laner Eugene "Pobelter" Park on Syndra, who stood triumphant at TL's shattered nexus with a record of 11/1/0. Pobelter's hard carry performance marked the most kills for any single player in a game of the 2020 LCS Spring Split.

Though a record of 3-11 and a last place standing in the LCS may not show it, CLG has made improvements since Pobleter replaced Lee "Crown" Min-ho in the Mid Lane. Most of the team's improvements around Pobelter are those that longtime watchers of the Notorious P.O.B. have come to expect: a focus on side lane play, improved rotations, and more cohesive cross-map plays.

However, against Team Liquid last weekend, Pobelter showed that he can put a game on his back in a much more literal way. Pobelter's Syndra was the primary carry of a CLG lineup that featured AD Carry Oh "Wind" Myeong-jin in the LCS for the very first time. Wind held his own on Aphelios and provided all the additional firepower Pobelter needed to lead CLG to victory against his former team.

Pobelter not only played for Team Liquid in 2018, but also was a Positional Coach for TL until being acquired by CLG after week 4 of the LCS Spring Split. Pobelter's map awareness, familiarity with the opponent, and individual display of dominance was the perfect recipe for CLG 3rd win of the split.
