Overwatch PTR releases a buff for Bastion and more

The new update for Overwatch was released to the PTR on Feb 7th. The highlight of the update was a buff for Bastion, a change in D.Va’s Defense Matrix, and the “capture the flag” mode changing from a season-limited mode to a mode in Arcade.

The headshot damage multiplier is no longer available for Bastion, but his bullet spread has increased by 50 percent, his deploy time has been decreased to 1 second, and his magazine size has increased from 200 to 300 while in Sentry mode. The bullet spread has decreased by 25 percent in Recon mode, but magazine size has been increased to 25. Bastion is now able to use Self-Repair while moving, so gameplay and strategies for Bastion might change drastically from here on out.

Other heroes that were buffed include D.Va and Mercy. Projectiles within the range of D.Va’s Defense Matrix do not have to travel a minimum distance before being destroyed anymore, so Defense Matrix is no longer useless when enemies are right next to allies. For Mercy, she is now temporarily invulnerable while performing a resurrection. This will allow her to stay with her allies after a resurrection, instead of sacrificing herself to save her allies.

Other updates include sensitivity adjustments and a new hero option that allows sensitivity adjustments for Ana, Mercy, Sombra, Widowmaker, Zarya, and Zenyatta. The entirety of the patch notes for Overwatch PTR along with developer’s comments can be found here.
