Gen.G Esports secured a 2-0 victory against BNK FearX in the second round of the 2026 LoL Champions Korea (LCK) regular season, held at LoL Park in Jongno on the 14th. With this win, Gen.G extended their winning streak to seven games, reaching the 10-win mark and closing the gap on first-place Hanwha Life Esports.
The following is the full interview with 'Chovy' Jeong Ji-hoon, who was named Player of the Match (POM).

Q. You defeated BNK FearX 2-0 to reach 10 wins this season. How does it feel to hit a seven-game winning streak?
'Chovy' = I'm happy we secured the 2-0 win today. I'm also satisfied because there were many aspects of our performance that went well.
Q. How close do you think Gen.G's current performance is to being 'complete' or perfected?
'Chovy' = It's hard to evaluate the level of completion. I'm just focused on continuing to play well and constantly looking for ways to improve further.
Q. In Game 1, you blind-picked Cassiopeia even though the opponent hid their mid pick until the end. Is Cassiopeia essentially a 'no-counter' blind pick?
'Chovy' = I don't think it's quite a 'no-counter' pick. It just seemed like the opponent wanted to give me the mid pick and take Cassiopeia for themselves, so I decided to take her first. That said, I think most mid-lane champions are viable as blind picks these days.
Q. You recorded a pentakill in Game 1. Did you have a feeling you'd get it when you hit the quadrakill?
'Chovy' = I thought about it, but it didn't feel like much. Honestly, I think a 'true' pentakill is one where you clean up a fight in a dramatic situation. I don't get much of a thrill from just picking up all the kills during a team fight. Next time, I'll try to get a pentakill in a more exciting moment.
Q. In Game 2, you built Rocketbelt and Zhonya's Hourglass after Rod of Ages and Archangel's Staff on Ryze.
'Chovy' = Personally, there have been times when I've pressed active items during a fight, only to find they hadn't actually activated once the fight was over. Also, Ryze is naturally strong when he can stick to targets, but there are many situations where he can't, so I've been building Rocketbelt.
Q. Gen.G's solid macro play seems to rely heavily on communication. What kind of calls do you mainly make in-game?
'Chovy' = We mostly make calls to share the current situation and set objectives. We don't really do much 'encouragement,' but if someone makes a good play, we'll say something like, 'Oh, nice play,' just to acknowledge it.
Q. You have the 'Saturday Showdown' against T1 coming up this Saturday. Any final words on your mindset.
'Chovy' = We're showing good form right now, and I'll make sure we maintain it so we can win our next match as well.
Q. Lastly, please say a word to the fans who visited the venue.
'Chovy' = Thanks to the fans who always come out to support us, we're able to work hard, and it serves as the driving force that makes us want to keep showing our best. I'm always grateful, and I'll continue to show you great performances.
