'007: First Light,' the new title from IO Interactive, the studio famous for the 'Hitman' series, has officially gone gold.
On the 14th, IO Interactive announced via the official 007: First Light X (formerly Twitter) account that the game has reached gold status and is confirmed for release on May 27 as scheduled. The game was originally slated for a March 27 launch, but IO Interactive delayed it by two months to ensure final polish and a smooth experience at launch.
The announcement accompanying the previous delay stated, "As an independent developer and publisher, this decision is to ensure the game reaches the level of quality that players deserve on day one." This led many to speculate that the poor polish of 'MindEye,' which was also published by IO Interactive, had influenced the decision to push back the release of the 007 title.
Meanwhile, 007: First Light is a stealth-action game that explores the early days of James Bond. Players will take on the role of Bond, utilizing spy gadgets, engaging in high-octane action, and participating in vehicle chases.
