'Clair Obscur: Expedition 33' has won the Game of the Year (GOTY) award at the 2026 BAFTA Games Awards, becoming the second title in history to sweep the 'Big Five' gaming awards.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) held the 2026 BAFTA Games Awards at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London on the 18th (local time). BAFTA is an organization that supports and hosts ceremonies for arts including film, television, and games; it was founded as the British Film Academy in 1947 and adopted its current name in 1976. The games category was added in 1998, and the awards became an independent event with the inaugural BAFTA Games Awards in 2004. Over the past two decades, the ceremony has established itself as one of the most prestigious in the industry.

Winners of the BAFTA Games Awards are determined by a vote among more than 1,300 members who first select the nominees. At the 2026 ceremony, which featured 18 categories including Game Design, Narrative, and Music, the honor of Best Game went to 'Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.' With this win, 'Clair Obscur: Expedition 33' has swept the 'Big Five' gaming awards—the Golden Joystick Awards, D.I.C.E. Awards, The Game Awards, GDC Awards, and BAFTA. This marks the second time such a feat has been achieved, following 'Baldur's Gate 3' in 2023.

Meanwhile, 'ARC Raiders' from Nexon subsidiary Embark Studios was nominated for GOTY at both the D.I.C.E. Awards and the BAFTAs but did not win. Since its release on October 30, 'ARC Raiders' has seen significant success, surpassing 460,000 concurrent players and selling over 12.4 million copies in just three months. With strong Metacritic and OpenCritic scores of 86 and 87, respectively, it was a strong contender for GOTY, but ultimately took home the award for Best Multiplayer, following its win for Best Online Game at the D.I.C.E. Awards.
