LZ GorillA: "I hope we can pick ourselves up with today's win."

On February 28th (KST), 2017 LCK Spring Split resumed after a week-long break. In the first match, Longzhu Gaming defeated MVP after letting MVP win the first game.

Although LZ couldn't keep up with MVP in the first game, the match started to turn around as Beomhyun "GorillA" Kang helped PraY's Caitlyn carry the game with Lulu in the second game. The match ended as LZ dominated the third game while GorillA was putting a lot of pressure on MVP with Malzahar.

Here is our interview with today's playmaker - Beomhyun "GorillA" Kang.

Congratulations on your spectacular comeback! How are you feeling right now?

We were not doing great lately, so I hope we can pick ourselves up with today's win. I hope that we'll only do well from now on.

MVP was on a winning streak, so losing the first game must have been bad for the team mood. How did you prepare yourselves for Game 2?

I thought it wouldn't do any good to lament over our loss. So we cheered each other up so that we could do our best in the next game.

The first game quickly ended after the Baron steal. Were you upset about it?

It was a game that we could have won, but I didn't really mind because everyone was at fault. I just said that we should do better in the next game.

Were you feeling pressured by how well the enemy botlane duo has been doing? Also, it must have been surprising to see Jongbin "Max" Jung's Lulu pick.

I don't think Jongin "PraY" Kim would have felt any pressure. As for me, I was just a bit concerned about Max because he picked Lulu that I planned to pick today.

You've done better than ever in the first half of a split with a 6-3 record. Do you think you can do better in the second half?

The first half was mainly about building teamwork, and our result in the second half would depend on how well we have built our teamwork. I think we will do well in the second half as well as long as we mentally prepare ourselves properly.

You were defeated by all of the 'Top 3' teams. Would it be okay for us to ask how you feel about it?

I don't really feel ashamed of being defeated by them, because I don't think we are a 'top' team yet. However, I have my hopes up since we didn't get completely shut down by those teams.

Thank you for your time. Do you have anything else that you want to share?

I would like to thank the fans who are cheering for Longzhu Gaming. We don't have much time left before the second half, but we will try our best to show how we have improved as a team.
