VALORANT has been accused of being a pretty dull game to watch by some in the esports community. But there's no denying that the rivalries and storylines in competitive VALORANT are some of the most entertaining in all of esports.

VALORANT Champions Tour 2021: Stage 3 Masters Berlin is underway. The LAN tournament has all of the top squads in the world under the Verti Music Hall roof, competing for a $700,000 prize pool. In North America, one of the teams to watch is the Sentinels. They are about to face off against G2, one of the top teams from the EMEA region. The two top squads have had no previous encounters so VALORANT fans are excited to see how the talented pros will match up.

But even though the teams have a very anti-climatic 0-0 score against each other, G2 decided to make this the start of an intense storyline in competitive VALORANT. Recently known for their very spicy tweets at rival teams, G2 decided to take it one step further and hired a plane to fly in Berlin with a banner saying "FUCK SENTINELS" waving proudly behind it.

G2 Esports even decided to make the banner their new banner on Twitter. While many applauded the team for their humor and clever meme-ing, others warned G2 that this joke could age very poorly if Sentinels ended up winning during the teams' first real encounter.

But G2 were good sports about the entire thing. In response to the criticism, G2 said they would "laugh at themselves" if they ended up losing.

"We'll get the W next time," G2 said.

After posting a few tweets showcasing the plane, some fans applauded G2's dedication to keeping the org's social media consistently spicy. Others warned G2 that it was coming off try-hard, pointing out that Sentinels hadn't even responded. But if it's clearly a joke, was a response really necessary?

Still, one fan said that the CEO was "cringe" because of this stunt and was planning to unfollow G2.

Carlos Rodriguez himself responded to the disappointed fan: "Bye Abhijeet."

G2 and Sentinels will finally face each other any moment now. The outcome will definitely be an interesting one but G2 has decided that the two teams are rivals either way. Let's see how their storyline plays out as the VCT continues.
