On Tuesday, April 21, a special broadcast celebrating the Version 1.2 update for The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin was held on the official YouTube channel. The Korean broadcast featured MCs Oh Seong-gyun and Kim Hyo-jin, along with guests Henri-hyung and Moving TV, who introduced the key content of Version 1.2. Simultaneous broadcasts were also held for Japanese and global audiences.
Prior to the broadcast, Producer KOO stated in a developer note that "this update marks the beginning of full-scale updates," signaling that Version 1.2 is not just a simple patch but a milestone that brings the game into its main phase.
The content revealed during the broadcast certainly lived up to that promise. A massive wave of new content and quality-of-life improvements was announced, including the arrival of the new hero 'Escanor'—long awaited by many players—as well as the new raid boss 'Galan,' the endgame content 'Crossroads of Time and Space,' expanded Abyss difficulty, and the ability to craft imprinted armor directly.

'Sin of Pride' Escanor Pickup Coming Soon
The star of Version 1.2 is undoubtedly Escanor. Making a spectacular entrance in the PV, Escanor joins Britannia wielding three types of weapons: Axe (Fire/Attacker), Greatsword (Holy/Attacker), and Sword & Shield (Fire/Warden).
His overall concept balances high durability with explosive firepower. Axe Escanor builds 'Sunspot' stacks to simultaneously increase Fire attribute damage and Max HP. Once Sunspots reach their maximum, he enters the 'Flare' state, which significantly boosts Fire damage and Max HP while reducing incoming damage, making him a self-sufficient dealer. His special attack, 'Condensed Sun,' grants reaction immunity and damage reduction while charging, allowing for the kind of 'tank-and-spank' playstyle that reflects his indomitable nature in the original series.
Greatsword Escanor focuses on a burn-based playstyle. His basic attack, 'Sun's Orbit,' inflicts Burn on enemies, and each time Burn occurs, the enemy's defense is reduced (up to 100 stacks). His basic skill, 'Cruel Sun,' accelerates Burn damage to speed up defense reduction, while his ultimate, 'Rising Sun,' deals increased damage based on the defense reduction accumulated through Burn. He excels as a character who combines damage-over-time with defense shredding.
Sword & Shield Escanor, true to his Warden role, focuses on defense-based damage and team protection. His passive, 'Sun's Blessing,' builds 'Warm-up' stacks every second while a shield is active, increasing both defense and Fire attribute damage. His special attack, 'Sun's Advance,' grants the entire team a Fire shield proportional to his defense. With his basic skill, 'Overpowering Flame,' which includes a taunt, he is expected to be a strong contender for the tank role in Fire-attribute parties.

Two Exclusive Imprinted Gear Sets & Costumes Added for Escanor
Two exclusive imprinted gear sets for Escanor will also be added. 'Northern Wildness' is part of the Twisted Desire set and is specialized for the Axe. Its passive, 'Noon Sun,' increases the duration of the Flare effect and grants additional Sunspots when attacking while Sunspots are held.
'Sufficient Pride' is part of the Resurrected Nightmare set and is specialized for the Greatsword. Its passive, 'Blazing Sunlight,' grants additional defense reduction when hitting enemies affected by Burn and increases Holy attribute damage when attacking burned enemies. Note that the Twisted Desire set, which is a material for the Northern Wildness gear, can be crafted.
An exclusive costume for Escanor will also be added. 'Sacred Treasure: Divine Axe Rhitta,' inspired by the original manga, will be available through a dedicated costume draw.

Main Story Act 13 & New Region 'Beautiful Gluttony Tavern'
The main story expands to Act 13. In this chapter, Galan of the Ten Commandments appears as an antagonist, and both Meliodas and Escanor make appearances. Given that Meliodas' brief appearance in Act 12 sparked much curiosity, anticipation for this story development is higher than ever.
A new region, 'Beautiful Gluttony Tavern,' is also being added. Located in the grasslands south of the Vanya Plains, this mysterious area allows players to gather 7 new materials, including new forageables like Ghost Orchids and Shiny Insect Wings, cooking ingredients like Watermelon and Quinoa, and new resources like Sunstone Ore and Sun-dried Peppers.

New Boss Challenge: 'Galan of Truth' Arrives!
A new boss challenge, 'Galan of Truth,' is being introduced. It consists of three difficulty levels: Nightmare, Hell, and Abyss, with Fire and Wind as the weak attributes.
Galan's core mechanics are twofold. First is the 'Commandment of Truth,' which periodically imposes taboos; violating them reduces Max HP, while adhering to them increases it. Second is the 'Galan Game,' where he places a taboo on all targets and designates a 'Galan Game Attacker' to deal powerful blows. The target hit by this attack becomes the next Galan Game Attacker, gaining a massive reduction in damage taken and a significant increase in damage dealt.
Materials obtained by defeating Galan can be used to craft the 'Soul-Devouring Axe,' a special Fire-attribute weapon that is highly effective for Escanor.

Two New Abyss Difficulties & New Accessory Set
Two new Abyss difficulty levels are being added. Abyss difficulty will open for the 'Galan of Truth' boss challenge and the 'Ferzen Mine' dungeon, allowing players to obtain new armor sets and accessories.
Notably, the new accessory set 'Pulse of the Curse' is being introduced. Available only in the Abyss difficulty of the Galan of Truth boss challenge, the 2-set effect increases HP, while the 3-set effect increases Dark attribute resistance. The 2-set bonus also includes a powerful effect that grants the entire team a shield proportional to Max HP when the hero is hit while their own HP is below a certain level.

New Endgame Content 'Crossroads of Time and Space' Opens April 29
The endgame content 'Crossroads of Time and Space,' previously teased in developer notes, will open on Wednesday, April 29. Notably, it will open about a week after the update rather than on the day of the update. New zones will be opened sequentially every three weeks, and the structure rewards players with first-clear bonuses and higher rewards based on time. It was also revealed that the first boss will be Marmas.

New Imprinted Gear for 7 Existing Heroes, Including Dual-Sword Meliodas!
In addition to Escanor, new imprinted gear for existing heroes will be added. New gear for a total of 7 heroes, including Meliodas, Daisy, and Guila, will be introduced. In particular, the addition of imprinted gear for Dual-Sword Meliodas is expected to further boost the efficiency of the dual-sword build, which is currently widely used as a main dealer.

6 New Pets & Crafting Station Level 6 Expansion
6 new pets are being added. Players can obtain a flying pet just by logging in, and the first craftable pet has also been introduced. The craftable pet, 'Mobile Mining Unit,' combines mount and mining functions, which is expected to make mining more efficient.
The crafting station will also be expanded to level 6, adding the 'Master's Crafting Station.' At this station, players can craft new, useful items such as the Mobile Mining Unit pet and Remnants of the Rift.

Imprinted Gear Crafting Simplified & Quality-of-Life Improvements
A feature to directly craft the armor materials for imprinted gear is being added. Players will be able to craft the Star Guardian, Resurrected Nightmare, and Twisted Desire sets, which is expected to significantly ease the burden of relying solely on RNG-based drops for imprinted gear.
Numerous quality-of-life improvements are also being applied. First, a continuous gathering feature has been added, allowing for automatic tracking to the next location when gathering or mining. A feature to preview imprinted gear information has also been added, allowing players to check the passives and stats of required gear before crafting.
Third, players can now obtain monster materials with a certain probability when defeating field bosses and elite monsters without consuming Cube Keys. When defeating bosses and elite monsters in Abyss difficulty dungeons, there is also a chance to obtain materials for crafting Remnants of the Rift.
The development team also stated that they are aware of other bugs not explicitly mentioned in the broadcast and will work to resolve them quickly.
