KSV Forms Esports Team for PUBG, Starring Former Lunatic-Hai Players, EscA and Leetaejun

KSV has officially announced today the formation of a professional team for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) - a record-breaking hit amongst newly released games.

“PUBG has high potential as an esport given its tremendous streaming popularity and developer commitment to competitive gaming. I am committed to supporting the most talented esports players in Korea across all major esport games and helping the players to compete in the best tournaments all over the world. The fact that PUBG’s developers are also based out of Korea and have created a globally successful game makes this a must-have esport team,” said Kevin Chou, CEO of KSV.

This announcement comes on the heels of launching the ‘Seoul Dynasty’ Overwatch League team and the acquisition of MVP Black and MVP Miracle for Heroes of the Storm. KSV has continued to take action on its primary goals to expand the Korean esports industry, elevate the profession of esports in Korea, and build the top Korean teams across every major esport games.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is an online battle royale themed shooting game, developed and published by PUBG Corp., a subsidiary of Korean publisher Bluehole. It was released as an early access program in March 2017, generating an immediate buzz globally, breaking a new record hitting over 2M concurrent users on Steam.

Confirmed initial players for KSV’s PUBG team are: former Lunatic-Hai players ‘EscA’ In Jae Kim and “Leetaejun” Tae Jun Lee. EscA, a two-time APEX championship winner, recently made a personal decision to remain in Seoul and further his career playing PUBG with KSV. “I’m happy to continue being a part of KSV. PUBG is a unique game that is growing quickly and I’m looking forward to making amazing moments with my future PUBG teammates as I did with Lunatic-Hai” said EscA.

Tae Jun Lee said, “I have always enjoyed shooting games and playing as a professional gamer, so no question in my interest in PUBG. I am glad to be a part of the team. I will put every effort to win.”

KSV has also appointed as GM, Hyung Su Cheong, a former professional streamer and player ‘MaSsan’. “PUBG is a unique opportunity to build a strong team with some of the world’s best players and streamers, and we’re excited to bring two world-class champions to our roster. Our team has already shown impressive results in competitive online matches in Korea, and we’re excited to compete in tournaments around the world. We are actively trying out other top players and streamers to join our growing team.

Both EscA and Leetaejun will attend the ‘Seoul Dynasty “Fan-tastic” Event’, a send-off event and a fan-meeting of the inaugural ‘Seoul Dynasty’ team on November 18th, where players who made the final roster for the team will further introduce themselves.
