The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin launched early on PS5 and Steam ahead of mobile release

Netmarble has opened early access to The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin on PlayStation 5 and Steam, a week before the game’s wider launch across mobile platforms. According to a release, the anime open-world role-playing game became available on the two platforms at 5PM UTC on March 16th. Its full cross-platform launch, which will also add mobile support, is scheduled for March 23rd.

The launch meant players on PS5 and Steam could begin exploring Britannia ahead of the wider release. Netmarble said users take on the role of Tristan in a world disrupted by a collision of time and space. The game supports solo play as well as co-op for up to five players, including the host.

Ahead of the mobile launch, Netmarble also opened pre-registration through Google Play, the App Store and the game’s official website. Players who pre-register will receive in-game rewards, including the character ‘Tioreh’, draw tickets and a weapon called the ‘Skyborne Gale Dual Swords’, according to the release.

Netmarble added that a social media event had also gone live to mark the PS5 and Steam release. Details were shared through the title’s official channels, including Facebook and X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is based on The Seven Deadly Sins manga and anime franchise. Netmarble said the title features an open-world version of Britannia, alongside tag-based combat, combination skills and customisable teams built around different characters and weapons.

Multiplayer options also appear to be a major part of the experience, with players able to form parties for exploration and boss battles.

The release adds another title to Netmarble’s portfolio of licensed and original games. The South Korea-headquartered publisher is known for titles such as Solo Leveling: ARISE, MARVEL Future Fight and The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross.

With the mobile version arriving on March 23rd, the company is now positioning Origin for a broader multi-platform rollout after first opening access on console and PC.
