NCSoft's MMORPG 'THRONE AND LIBERTY (TL)' has completed its scheduled maintenance and launched a major update. This update introduces the new cumulative growth system 'Star's Journey,' alongside 'Traces of Time' content, a Codex overhaul, a new PvP season, and various quality-of-life improvements.

The core feature, 'Star's Journey,' is a long-term character growth system. It becomes available after completing the Adventure Codex prologue, 'Prelude: The Child of the Stars.' Players can permanently increase character stats by collecting 'Star Memories' through the Adventure Codex, Exploration Codex, and Traces of Time. Star Memories are automatically consumed upon acquisition and apply only to the character that obtained them.

Alongside Star's Journey, new 'Traces of Time' content has been added. Each territory now features 'Spacetime Singularity' portals and 'Relic Fishing Spots' where players can obtain Star Memories. Spacetime Singularities involve entering portals to complete specific objectives, while Relic Fishing Spots offer rewards for fishing in designated areas. Achieving 100% completion in Traces of Time triggers daily random appearances of these singularities and fishing spots, along with additional rewards.

The UI for the Adventure and Exploration Codex has been completely revamped. The Adventure Codex is now structured by stages—Prologue, Part 1, Part 2, and Interlude—and displays only active or completed stories. The Exploration Codex has been reorganized based on territory and regional maps, making it more intuitive to identify where tasks can be performed. The 'Syleus' Abyss' Exploration Codex in the Laslan region has been consolidated into a single entry.

PvP content has also undergone a major overhaul. Arena Season 6 and Battlefield Season 1 have begun, both operating on a ranking-based seasonal system. The battlefields 'Giant's City' and 'Elf's Aerial Garden' will appear as random maps, and players can earn new titles and trophy crafting rights based on their season rankings. Statues of top-ranked players and new entrance stones have been added to the 'Plaza of Fighting Spirit' in Kastleton.

PvP time windows have also been adjusted. Previously, PvP was enabled throughout the entire duration of regional events, field bosses, and tax transport; now, it is only active during the event phases themselves. The development team explained that this change is intended to reduce unintended PvP deaths and provide players with time to gather before events begin.

Balance adjustments and bug fixes have been applied to certain Hero equipment and weapon skills. Issues such as the critical hit application error for the Crossbow's 'Ambidexterity' and the abnormal cooldown reduction for the Wand's 'Time Leap' have been fixed. A tooltip regarding the maximum activation count has been added to the 'Lightning Speed' specialization. The 'Whirlwind Spear' now limits additional 'Spiral Slash' uses to one, while the 'Abyss Knight's Predatory Spear' has had its additional 'Spiral Slash' uses increased from two to four.

Various other quality-of-life improvements have been implemented. The Amitoi Expedition now features an auto-register function based on previous party settings and an expedition status display. The adventure currencies 'Fighting Spirit' and 'Faith' have been consolidated into a new unified currency, 'Indomitability.' The inventory UI and chest names have been updated accordingly, and the Theme Festa menu is now only visible in the Quick Menu during active event periods.
