8 sleep darts that remind us to fear a skilled Ana player.

▲ One of the most satisfying abilities in Overwatch: the Sleep Dart

In most games, healers are ‘good guys’, use holy magic, or generally strive to help more than harm. In general, Ana fits this category as well, but her sleep dart is something far more sinister. It’s fast, locks you down completely, and you will almost never see it coming. In another context, it could be a horror movie weapon. These Ana’s will make you feel just a little tenser around your supports.

Nap time isn’t always relaxing.

1. Ana guards the flank, Genji has a bad day.

The Volskaya flank is a prime pathway for practically any hero with mobility, so what better place to farm some environmental kills? This poor Genji was halfway through his double jump when he was sedated, and already dead before he knew what hit him. Props to the Ana player for not hesistating in the slightest when pulling the Sleep Dart Trigger.

2. Flick shot stops Soldier:76 dead in his tracks.

With extreme precision and a reaction time that’d make a mousetrap jealous, Ana does a complete 180 turn and flicks a sleep dart right into Soldier’s leg. Hitting 14 hp at her lowest, any slower and she, and likely her team, would’ve been riddled like swiss cheese. Everyone knows having auto aim in a first person shooter is cheating, and nobody cheats on her watch.

Pharah mains may want to look away.

Imagine lazily hovering through the air with your state of the art jetpack technology when you see a syringe coming toward you, then nothing. Absolutely terrifying. To think that Ana would do that to her own daughter. If that shot isn’t quite as impressive as you would’ve liked, however…

From almost all the way across the map, Pharah is forced to take her last nap. The concept is horrifying, but the shot itself is undeniably impressive. If I was her, I don’t think I could even be mad, just impressed.

5.
An express elevator to pain town.

Impressive, funny, what’s not to love? The elevator on Oasis can make for some great moments, but this one has to be my favorite so far. Poor Reaper just wanted a tactical advantage and instead got the most embarrassing time out ever. If the fall didn’t kill his body, it certainly killed his pride.

6.
Sleep dart and the art of supporting.

This is the only clip on this list that isn’t from Ana’s point of view, but it's too good not to add. Sleeping the Roadhog at just the right time allows Pharah to not only live, but nearly wipe the other team. A follow up nano boost just adds to how beautiful it is as a purely ‘supporting’ play.

7.
Tracer is predicted and outplayed.

It looks like Tracer isn’t the only one who can control time. Ana nails her with an excellent predicted sleep dart immediately before he recall pops her in. Luckily for Tracer, the wasn’t any follow up and she made it out with her life. An impressive shot nonetheless.

8. The most impressive display of Ana survival ever?

There’s nothing I can say about this clip that would do it justice. Ana takes on a Mercy, Zenyatta, and a Widowmaker all while landing two sleep darts, throwing out a nano boost, and keeping herself and others alive. This could be the pinnacle of Ana’s rugged survivability. How would you have fared in this hectic scrap?
