Netmarble's highly anticipated title, SOL: Enchant, has finally arrived. After a one-time delay, the game launched on June 18 and immediately generated buzz, with a massive influx of users leading to queues and character creation limits. A new server, 'Regina,' was added just eight hours after launch.
The atmosphere upon logging in was intense, even for a weekday. Although I wasn't playing on the first server, the starting areas were packed with players, and I could see people questing and hunting everywhere I looked.
As the game emphasizes a smooth Auto Hunt experience, there weren't many instances of direct player collision. However, seeing players move together and engage in combat in major quest areas gave the game that distinct, communal feel characteristic of a MMORPG.
The hottest spot on Day 1 was undoubtedly the first floor of 'Despair.' As a mid-game area where hunting speed begins to slow, it naturally attracted the vanguard of top-tier players, including rankers and guild leaders, who could be seen chatting and progressing through the game together. With such high activity levels, the servers are expected to be even more crowded during the evening hours.
SOL: Enchant is also running various launch promotions. First, the item drop rate for all boss monsters has been tripled. Additionally, the first player on each server to reach level 50 will be awarded the Epic grade accessory, 'Baltaros' Ring.'
Enchantment is a new MMORPG that bills itself as an 'omniscient MMORPG,' aiming to differentiate itself through its core 'Divine Power' system. The game is being developed by Alt9, a new studio formed by key developers from Lineage M, and will be published by Netmarble. It will be available as a multi-platform title supporting both PC and mobile.
