SEGA has announced 'SEGA Universe,' a project dedicated to redeveloping its classic intellectual properties. The company also launched an official website, concept movie, key visual, and official X account.
Under the slogan 'No old, Stay gold,' SEGA Universe is a project that aims to expand beloved legacy IPs beyond games into video, music, fashion, and various other forms of entertainment.
SEGA described the project by stating, "The games and characters born in the past transcend generations and borders, living and breathing in the same world to this day. While their forms may constantly change, the experiences will be continuously updated and passed on to the next generation."
The first phase of the SEGA Universe project will feature anniversary initiatives focusing on titles celebrating milestones in 2026. Through this, SEGA plans to evoke nostalgia while delivering fresh entertainment content.
The titles revealed on the website include Fantasy Zone, OutRun, Streets of Rage, Rent-A-Hero, Guardian Heroes, NiGHTS into dreams..., Dynamite Cop, Sakura Wars, and Segagaga. Key IPs are expected to include OutRun (40th anniversary), Streets of Rage (35th anniversary), and NiGHTS into dreams... and Sakura Wars (30th anniversary).
Further details regarding SEGA Universe will be released via the official website and other channels in the future.
