DRX moved one victory away from securing a spot at Masters Toronto after sweeping Talon Esports in Week 2 of the VCT Pacific Mid-Season Playoffs over the weekend of May 3–4 at the SOOP Colosseum in Seoul. The defending Kickoff champions advanced to Lower Bracket Round 3, positioning themselves for a showdown that could clinch their berth in Canada.
Action opened on May 3 with upsets for two South Korean squads. Nongshim RedForce, seeded fourth in the Omega Group and forced into the lower bracket, fell in a 2–1 loss to Talon Esports, ending their Stage 1 campaign. Later that day, T1 won its opening map against Paper Rex by a commanding 13–3 score on Ascent but managed only six combined rounds over the next two maps, bowing out in a 2–1 defeat and missing an early chance at Masters qualification.

The following afternoon, DRX delivered a dominant performance against Talon. On Icebox, the Korean side jumped to a 7–1 lead before closing out the first map 13–4, with contributions from all five starters. In the next match, DRX trailed 5–7 at halftime but overturned the deficit to force overtime and sealed a 13–11 victory, completing a 2–0 sweep.
With momentum on their side, DRX will face Paper Rex in Lower Bracket Round 3 on May 9. A win in that best-of-three matchup guarantees at least a third-place finish and a ticket to Masters Toronto. Paper Rex, multiple-time Pacific champions, have had the upper hand in recent encounters, defeating DRX in the 2023 Pacific finals and twice in 2024. However, DRX claimed victories over them in last year’s Stage 2 lower final and in Week 1 of this season’s Stage 1, giving the squad confidence heading into the clash.

Meanwhile, the two teams already qualified—Gen.G and Rex Regum Qeon—will meet in the Winners’ Final later on May 9. The victor advances directly to the Grand Final on May 11, while the loser drops to face the Lower Bracket survivor on May 10 in another best-of-five battle.
