Smilegate has unveiled a variety of commemorative content and key milestones to mark the first anniversary of 'Clair Obscur: Expedition 33' (hereinafter 'Expedition 33'), a reactive turn-based RPG developed by French studio Sandfall Interactive.

'Clair Obscur: Expedition 33' has captured global attention with its Belle Époque-inspired world, stylish presentation, and reactive turn-based combat system. Since its launch, the game has established itself as a major global success, consistently receiving praise for its unique visuals, music, and narrative.

Developer Sandfall Interactive has unveiled a variety of new content to celebrate the first anniversary of 'Expedition 33.' First, the studio released a feature-length documentary titled 'The Making of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33,' which chronicles the game's development journey from its initial concept to its rise as a global hit, featuring interviews with the development team. Alongside the documentary, a new commemorative artwork created by Art Director Nicolas Maxson-Francombe was also revealed.

A free update has also been applied across all platforms, adding new hairstyles for each character alongside various quality-of-life improvements and stability updates.

The company also shared performance milestones: 'Clair Obscur: Expedition 33' has surpassed 8 million units in cumulative global sales and was recorded as the most-downloaded new third-party title on Xbox Game Pass in 2025. Its original soundtrack has garnered over 600 million streams on YouTube and achieved high rankings on major global charts, including six weeks at number one on the UK Official Albums Chart and a top-five entry on the US Billboard 200.

The PC version of 'Clair Obscur: Expedition 33' is available on STOVE, Steam, and the Epic Games Store, and the game is also available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
