Kabam has revealed a slate of International Women’s Day-themed content for Marvel Contest of Champions (MCoC), alongside tie-ins with Disney+’s upcoming Daredevil: Born Again series and new player giveaways.
According to a release, the March update for the mobile fighting title will introduce two new playable Champions, limited-time event quests and a 14-day supply drop aimed at first-time players. The developer also confirmed a rework for Magik and the launch of a permanent progression system for seven-star characters.
Pixie and Madelyne Pryor join The Battlerealm
As part of its International Women’s Day celebrations, Kabam is adding Pixie and Madelyne Pryor to its roster of more than 300 Marvel characters.
Pixie — also known as Megan Gwynn — will become available from March 12th, with Madelyne Pryor launching on March 26th. Pixie uses ‘Pixie-Dust’ hallucinations and a soul dagger that grants access to dark magic abilities. Meanwhile, Madelyne Pryor — the Goblin Queen and ruler of Limbo — wields a scythe and summoning powers, positioning her as a high-damage Mystic option within the game’s roster.
The new Champions will headline the Manic Pixie Dream Goblin Event Quest, running from March 4th to April 1st, with availability extended until April 8th at 10 AM PT. The quest’s storyline sees Pixie assisting the Sorcerer Supreme in containing magical threats linked to Limbo, culminating in encounters with Madelyne Pryor. Kabam stated that the update is designed to “celebrate the super women who lead the fight — warriors, leaders, innovators, and legends” across the Marvel universe.
Women of Power bundle targets new players
In addition to in-game events, Kabam is launching a Women of Power New Player Bundle starting March 7th at 4 PM PT.
According to the release, the bundle is exclusively available to accounts created between March 7th and April 7th at 4 PM PT. To qualify, players must complete the tutorial and reach level five to unlock in-game mail, where the rewards will be delivered.
The 14-day supply drop includes ten Champions on day one — Spiral, She-Hulk, Rogue, Nebula, Nico Minoru, Black Widow (Deadly Origin), Kate Bishop, Silk, Karolina Dean and Phoenix — alongside five three-star crystals. Over the following days, players will receive rank-up materials, ISO-8, gold, potions, signature stones and both three-star and four-star Awakening Gems. On day seven, players can select one of the ten Champions as a four-star via a Nexus crystal.
The initiative appears aimed at lowering the entry barrier for new users, providing early roster depth and upgrade materials within the first two weeks of play.
Daredevil: Born Again crossover begins March 24th
Kabam is also tying its March content to the second season launch of Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+, which premieres on March 24th. Beginning March 24th and running for two weeks, players will be able to claim a free Jessica Jones and Daredevil profile picture, alongside a Daredevil (Hell’s Kitchen) Champion Selector and a Kingpin Champion Selector.
Crossover events tied to Marvel Studios releases have become a recurring strategy for Marvel Contest of Champions, which has operated as a live-service mobile title for over a decade.
Magik rework and seven-star Ascension system
Beyond character launches and promotions, Kabam confirmed that Illyana Rasputina — better known as Magik — received a rebalance and mechanical update on March 2nd. The developer described the changes as refreshing her Power Control toolkit, particularly around her Special 2 ability.

On March 5th, Kabam will also introduce Ascension as a permanent feature for seven-star Champions. The system enables players to increase a character’s rank up to 11 by using resources such as Ascension Tokens and Primordial Dust.
Each Ascension level grants additional Attack, Health and Challenge Rating, as well as a new mechanic called ‘Might’. According to the release, Might fills during combat and unleashes a burst of bonus damage when triggered. Further additions — including new currency, Carina’s Challenges and various bug fixes — are detailed in the game’s 55.1 release notes.
Launched in 2014, Marvel Contest of Champions remains one of Kabam’s flagship titles within the mobile esports and competitive gaming ecosystem, with regular seasonal updates forming a core part of its live-service strategy.
