League of Legends esports fans across the globe are voting for their favorite players from their respective regions to compete in the 2019 All-Star Event in Las Vegas, but it has already been confirmed that North America will be missing its two most decorated stars. Team Liquid Bot Laner Yiliang "Doublelift" Peng and TSM Mid Laner Søren "Bjergsen" Bjerg will not be representing the LCS at ASE2019.

Doublelift posted a recently uploaded video from his Youtube channel to his twitter account on Monday evening, stating that he would not be competing at All-Star 2019, but would be attending and creating some content at the event. Doublelift cited that due to Team Liquid's domestic dominance and subsequent international appearances, this is the only time he can actually take time off from playing.

Given that Doublelift competed at ASE2018, one could suggest he hasn't had a substantial break from competing in nearly two full years. It's understandable that the veteran might want some extra time off before Season 10.

Bjergsen's reason couldn't be more of the opposite. The Danish dynamo announced on twitter that he and TSM's new roster would be bootcamping in Shanghai. Most of the LPL's teams are located in Shanghai, and missing Worlds two consecutive years in a row is an uprecedented length of international absence for TSM, and Bjergsen's unparalleled work ethic would have him unqestionably prioritize his synergy with his new teammates before the 2020 LCS Spring Split.

TSM recently confirmed the rest of its roster, which has been rebuilt around Bjergsen and Top Laner Sergen "Broken Blade" Çelik.

Joshua "Dardoch" Hartnett will make his return to the LCS as TSM's Jungler, and Support Vincent "Biofrost" Wang has returned to his original organization after two years with Counter Logic Gaming. Former Splyce Bot Laner Kasper "Kobbe" Kobberup rounds out the starting five, but TSM has yet to announce a new Head Coach after parting ways with Tony "Zikz" Gray.
