A major update for tanks will take place during this season.

On January 31st, Riot Games revealed the champion update schedule planned for this season on their official website. According to the announcement, Galio will be the first champion to receive an update, followed by a massive overhaul of tank champions. After that, Urgot and Evelyn's reworks are in line for release.

The first to be updated will be Galio, who entered the Rift as the 57th champion, and is regarded as an anti-mage champion. His passive ability, Runic Skin, grants a portion of his magic resistance as ability power, whereas Bulwark is suited to absorb powerful spell damage. Notably, Sanghyuk “Faker” Lee masterfully played Galio in a recent tournament, providing a glimpse of Galio’s return to the limelight.

A tank update will follow the same pattern that was applied to assassin, bruiser, and mage champions. Since these updates tend to significantly alter the gameplay, it will be interesting to see how tanks will affect the course of the game.

Following that, Urgot, one of the lowest picked champions, and Evelyn, who swings between overpowered and off-meta over the seasons, will be updated after the tank update.
