KZ Deft: "I've liked ADC-centric comps from when I was playing for Samsung Blue... I feel rather comfortable than pressured."

On the 10th (KST), in the 2019 LCK Summer Split Day 21 match, Kingzone DragonX continued their strong run by defeating kt Rolster 2-1. Although Kingzone lost Game 1, they won two straight games to seal the victory. After the match, bot laner Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu sat for an interview.

You defeated kt Rolster in the last match of Round 1. How do you feel?

I was looking forward to playing against kt because PraY came back. We did win, but there were so many mistakes from both teams, it was hard to say who’s better. It was a hectic match.

When you were on KT, you were often cut off while trying to destroy wards, but this year’s Deft seems more perfect.

During my 2 years in KT, I think my comprehension of the game improved a lot. As for this year’s performance; my team’s playing around me more, so I don’t die as much anymore.

As you said, Kingzone forms comps around you a lot. Don’t you feel pressured thinking the team’s relying heavily on you?

I've liked ADC-centric comps from when I was playing for Samsung Blue. In other comps, there are situations where I can’t deal damage properly, but in this case, I’m the only one that needs to be really good. I feel rather comfortable than pressured.

Some fans are calling you the ‘LPL killer’ for your dominant performance against LPL teams. Are you more confident when playing against foreign leagues and players?

I don’t really think I’m stronger against a specific league or player. I don’t think there’s much difference between foreign leagues and LCK nowadays.

If you meet Uzi in the next international competition, are you confident in facing him?

Uzi is an amazing player; I think the better-prepared player would win if we were to meet.
