SKT Clid: "I faced iG often when I was in China. There’s not much pressure on facing them. We just need to prepare well."

SK Telecom T1 headed abroad on May 6th (KST) to participate in the 2019 Mid Season Invitational. We spoke briefly with their two junglers, Kim “Clid” Tae-min and Kang “Haru” Min-seung at the airport.

“It’s my first time heading to the MSI representing Korea, and it’s also my first international competition, so it feels really important,” said Clid, “I’m in a very good condition at the moment. I think there’s no team to be afraid of if we can deliver our best performance. I’m trying to keep the pace up.”

Haru was selected as the ‘sixth man’ for the tournament. “I’ll try to help out the team as much as I can, and do my best if I’m given the chance,” he said, and also showed confidence by saying, “Although I wasn’t able to play during the regular season, I’ve been preparing well personally.”

Haru also spoke about competing with Clid. “Before, I had to compete with Ambition who was a lot older than me, which could be a bit of pressure. (Laughs) It’s a bit more comfortable since Clid and I are almost the same age.”

Clid talked about the teams they’ll meet at the MSI. “I faced iG often when I was in China. There’s not much pressure on facing them. We just need to prepare well and we may have to beware of some surprise picks if we meet them in a Bo5,” and about G2, “Against them, prowess-wise, I’m extremely confident, but we’ll need to be careful of their unique strategies.”
