Rogue Warriors Shark Disqualified From the LDL Playoffs Due to Match-Fixing

Another match-fixing issue has occurred in the pro LoL scene... This time in the secondary LoL league in China, LDL.

On the 29th of April, Riot Games China announced penalizations for 4 pro gamers participating in the LDL and LPL. After thorough investigation, they've announced that 4 players have been involved in prohibited ways of manipulating match results.

3 of LDL Rogue Warriors Shark's players, mid laner CaoCao, bottom laner Zhanzhao, and FengXian has been banned from all tournaments for 18 seasonal months. Their sister team, LPL Rogue Warrior's jungler XiaoYao has also been penalized and banned for 18 seasonal months. Also, Rogue Warriors Shark's coach Sheng Liao and manager Li Kai Hao received official warnings for failing to carry out management obligations.

The Rogue Warriors Shark finished 3rd place in the 2019 LDL Spring Split and was waiting for their quarterfinals matchup. However, they've been automatically disqualified since 3 of their players have been banned which leaves only 4 players available on stage. Meanwhile, Triumphant Song Gaming and WE Academy - the 2 teams competing in Round 1 - will get a chance to directly head to the 2019 LDL Spring Split Semifinals.
