C9 Reapered: "I actually thought the Golden Guardians Coach or the FlyQuest Coach would win Coach of the Split."

Cloud9 finished the 2019 LCS Spring Split with a record of 14-4, good enough for 2nd place behind Team Liquid. While the roster swap madness that characterized Reapered's first coach of the split campaign were not as abundant, Cloud9 was still the leading innovator of LCS teams. Cloud9's flexibility was best in class across the board, bringing the most innovative compositions and using the most substitutions of any team in the spring split outside of OpTic Gaming.

While Reapered coached his team well, C9's Head Coach voiced his surprise in a post-award interview with Ovilee May on the Riot Games Broadcast. "I think this split that [Team Liquid Head] Coach [Jang] Cain [Nu-ri], me, and [TSM Head Coach Tony] Zikz were all doing great stuff, but I actually thought the Golden Guardians Coach or the FlyQuest Coach would win Coach of the Split. They did really well."

Reapered also mentioned that the most difficult aspect of coaching Cloud9 this spring was the integration of new Mid Laner Yasin "Nisqy" Dincer. "He was kind of hard to play with, but we trained him into a warrior."

While GGS' Nick "Inero" Smith and FLY's Gabriel "Invert" Zoltan-Johan arguably accomplished more with less, and Zikz has been a revelation for the TSM organization. However, Reapered's coaching prowess is undeniable, and it showed up over C9's top 2 finish in a plethora of ways.
