[Official] Hanwha Life Esports Acquires SoHwan and Thal, Renews Contract with Sangyoon, Lava, and Key

Hanwha Life Esports announced that they’ve acquired Kim “SoHwan” Jun-yeong and Park “Thal” Kwon-hyuk as well as renewing the contracts of Gwon “Sangyoon” Sang-yun, Kim “Lava” Tae-hoon, and Kim “Key” Han-gi.

By renewing the contract with Sangyoon, HLE has secured a stable leader for the team to blend in the new players to the team. Sangyoon has been rated as one of the best ADCs in the LCK; he will be the pillar of the team.

HLE is planning to run a 10-man roster to maximize each players’ strengths; not as two separate squads. They will have all players ready to carry out their role when inserted to play.

SoHwan debuted as a top laner in 2015 and played in Jin Air Green Wings up to last season. He is known for his strong laning phase and stable performance. Thal debuted in 2016 and has experience playing with Moojin in Red Bulls of EU. Although his performance wasn’t noticeably great during his last season with SK Telecom T1, many claim that he hasn’t reached his peak yet.

Head coach Kang “OnAir” Hyeong-jong said, “We’ve rebuilt our team earlier than other teams, we’ll have enough practice and rest so that we can have good results next season. We’ll do our best to increase our strengths and reduce our weaknesses to improve.”

Besides SoHwan and Thal, HLE had signed Kim “Moojin” Moo-jin, Kang “Tempt” Myung-gu, Kim “Bono” Gi-beom, and coach Jang Gun-woong during this offseason.
