Why KT Rolster Didn't Play In the 5th and Final Game of the Asian Rift Rivals

Many fans are in question on the reason why KT Rolster didn't play for the 5th and final game of the 2018 LCK/LPL/LMS Rift Rivals.

On the 8th, at the Dalien Sports Stadium, KT Rolster played in the Finals of the 2018 'Rift Rivals: LCK x LPL x LMS '. By defeating LPL's iG on the very 1st set, KT placed the LCK at a very advantageous position. However, the fans were questioning the LCK's decision of sending out a different team for the 5th and most important game.

An LCK personnel revealed why Afreeca Freecs played in place of KT Rolster on the final set. According to him, the head coaches of the LCK teams had all agreed that "the team that displays the best performance during the Finals should play the 5th set." The two LCK teams that won their games during the Finals, AFs and KT, were the two candidates.

After a brief meeting, the LCK coaches all agreed to play Afreeca. The coaches had made the judgment that AFs had played the "Korean Macro Game" in a much more stable way compared to the other LCK teams against the Chinese teams.

Afreeca Freecs, however, fell short against RNG in the 5th set, and China was once again able to claim the Rift Rivals trophy.
