IG defeated Machi Esports and secured the first win for their region, the LPL. The game was hard-fought -- TheShy's exceptional performance on the new Aatrox shook up the LMS team, allowing IG to push through with the win.

"The enemy made a critical mistake in the mid game. That's how we were able to win. Our team's familiarity/mastery on some of the champions are still low," TheShy said. IG was able to win the game through a Baron buff that they had won after winning a teamfight. 

In addition, TheShy sent a message to Khan -- a reply to Khan's message on an interview before he left Korea for Rift Rivals. "If we really do end up playing against each other... please go easy on me," he said while laughing. Also, TheShy stated that the battle against SKT T1 will be interesting because "no one could predict the outcome of what'll happen." 

Rookie pointed out the winning factor in his match against M17 and shared that the game could've gone a lot smoother in favor of IG had they had better communication. "Teamfights were important too, but we had the lead in the split push macro. However, it was a bit regretful that we had communication issues."

Lastly, Rookie pointed out that he will be the most important player for playing against SKT. "The outcome of our match against SKT will highly depend on me. I'll be very important in that matchup."
