EU LCS Summer Split 2018 Week 3: Preview & Schedule

After two weeks and four matches played by each team, the 2018 EU LCS Summer Split is starting to take shape. A clear division is being established, as each side fights for its respective goals in the second half of the season.

From the standings, we can easily notice that G2 Esports and Misfits will be the ones fighting to take away the European crown from Fnatic: with a perfect record so far this split, they are coming from convincing victories in week 2. But, in an environment where constant meta changes have the potential to change the entire approach to the game, will it be enough at the end?

Tomorrow’s showdown between Fnatic and G2 can give us some answers. A hungry G2 side will be looking for vengeance following a demoralizing 3-0 defeat in the Spring Finals. For Fnatic the question is be instead whether the team’s star and most iconic member, Rekkles, will actually be in the starting formation, as it seems the Swede is not yet fully comfortable at playing non-ADC champions in the bot lane.

Meanwhile in the other end of the standings, we will see H2K-Gaming and Splyce fighting each other on Friday to claim their first win of the split. Easily the biggest disappointment of the Summer Split so far, Splyce will arrive to the match heavily under pressure, and will desperately be looking for a victory to stay at least close to playoffs contention.
