2018 LCK Summer Split Will Commence on June 12th

Games will be held 6 days per week due to Asian Games schedule.

On the 4th of June (KST), Riot Games announced the schedule for the 2018 LCK Summer Split. The 2018 LCK Summer Split will start on the 12th of June 5:00 PM (KST) with the match between bbq Olivers and MVP and will continue to the 9th of August.

The Summer Split matches will be held 6 days per week (Tuesday-Sunday, was originally 5 days per week) at 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM. As LoL was selected as a demonstration event at the 2018 Jakarta Palembang Asian Games - and the Korean national team will be participating - the schedule for the Summer Split was changed.

10 teams will be competing in the 2018 LCK Summer Split. They will play two rounds of Bo3 with each team; a total of 90 matches (18 per team) will be held. In the Summer Split, Griffin, who delivered a sensational run from Challengers to reach the LCK, along with Hanwha Life Esports (ROX Tigers), defending champions Kingzone DragonX, Afreeca Freecs, kt Rolster, SKT T1, Gen.G Esports (KSV), Jin Air Green Wings, MVP, and bbq Olivers will be competing for the championship.

The champions of the upcoming Summer Split will secure a spot for the League of Legends World Championship which will be held in October; fierce competition is expected in this upcoming championship.
