KZ Head Coach Hirai: "Our team's underperformance is what truly cost us the game and not necessarily because FW played it well"

Kingzone DragonX's head coach, Hirai, gave his input regarding the tournament after having taken down TeamLiquid during Day 3 of the 2018 MSI Group Stage. "I'm happy that we won. This will take some burden off of our players, so I'm glad," he said.

In the League of Legends community, KZ received a lot of criticism despite having had a relatively great run in the tournament, finishing Day 3 with a score of 4-2. "Currently, I'm concerned with my players because of their poor physical/mental conditions. However, the ability to take care of one's self is a part of that player's overall skill," he said.

Hirai then spoke about his team's performance during KZ's previous match against the Flash Wolves. "Our team's underperformance is what truly cost us the game and not necessarily because FW played it well. The same goes for all of the matches that we've played so far in this tournament. I don't see them [Flash Wolves] as a stronger team than the LCK teams -- they're definitely beatable."

With the interview nearing its end, Hirai further spoke about his players' well-being. "Please root for our players... No matter the situation, they're always going at it at their best. Seeing all these criticisms and attacks aimed at them is truly hurting me. We'll do our best to show a better performance."

Kingzone DragonX will play against 'Royal Never Give Up' and 'EVOS Esports' on the coming 14th. If Kingzone is able to take these two wins, they're guaranteed to advance to the knock-out stage
