Forza Horizon 6 will launch on PlayStation 5 (PS5) on January 26th 2027, with pre-orders opening on the PlayStation Store on October 8th.
According to an announcement from developer Playground Games, the PS5 version has been built by Panic Button, the studio that also brought Forza Horizon 5 to PS5 last year. Panic Button worked on the port in close collaboration with Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios. Forza Horizon 6, an open-world racing game set in Japan, is already out on Xbox Series X|S and on PC via Steam.
Players can choose between three editions of the game. The Standard and Deluxe Editions will be released on January 26th 2027, while Premium Edition owners get early access five days earlier, from January 21st 2027. A physical disc version will also be sold at supporting retailers.
Playground Games has released a pre-order trailer for the PS5 version, which it said was captured on a base PS5 in the 4K, 30 frames per second (FPS) Quality mode. A 60 FPS Performance mode will also be available. Anyone who pre-orders on PS5 will receive a pre-tuned Ferrari J50, which is added to their garage once they finish the game’s prologue.

Cross-play and shared community content
The PS5 version will support cross-platform play and cross-save with the Xbox and Steam versions of the game. User-generated content (UGC) also works across platforms, so PS5 players will have access to a large existing collection of community-made content from day one. This includes:
- EventLab races
- Prefabs
- Garages and Estates
- Liveries
- Tuning Setups
Playground Games said that welcoming a new community means all players will benefit from more UGC being created and shared, whichever platform they play on. The studio also described the Horizon Festival, the event players take part in throughout the game, as ‘better together’.
First expansion arrives on January 21st
Alongside the PS5 news, Playground Games confirmed that the first Premium Expansion for Forza Horizon 6 will launch on all platforms on January 21st 2027, the same day PS5 early access begins. It will be included at no extra cost in the Premium Edition, the Premium Upgrade and the Expansions Bundle, and will also be sold separately. A second expansion is planned for a later date.
A free content update for all players will arrive alongside the PS5 launch and the expansion, though Playground Games said more details will be shared closer to release. The studio also pointed to ‘six months of exciting updates’ for the game, including a new Drift Attack feature, and called the current period ‘the best time to play’.

What each Forza Horizon 6 edition includes
The Standard Edition contains the base game only, while the Deluxe Edition adds a Welcome Pack and a Car Pass. The Premium Edition, which comes with five days of early access on PS5, includes the following:
- The full game
- VIP Membership
- Welcome Pack
- Car Pass
- Time Attack Car Pack
- Italian Passion Car Pack
- Expansion 1, launching January 21st 2027
- Expansion 2, coming at a later date
Players who already own the Standard or Deluxe Edition can buy the Premium Upgrade, which brings their copy up to Premium Edition level and includes both expansions. The Premium Upgrade also comes with five days of PS5 early access, and every PS5 pre-order includes the Ferrari J50 whichever edition players choose.
Ahead of the PS5 launch
According to Playground Games, the game now features more than 550 cars, including vehicles added since release. Players can follow news on the official Forza Discord server and the @ForzaHorizon accounts across social media, including X (formerly Twitter). “No matter which platform you’re playing Forza Horizon 6 on, we look forward to welcoming you soon to the Horizon Festival, now with more drivers than ever before,” the studio wrote.
